Rhapsody on a Windy Night Summary in English

Here we have uploaded the Rhapsody on a Windy Night Summary in English for students. This will help students to learn quickly in English and Hindi language.

it's Midnight. The whole street seems to be together with the moonlight. The moon whispers that blur the boundaries of memory—all things that pertain to memory, the way memory helps divide a person's experience of the world, and how memory brings a sense of accuracy to life . The speaker walks into the street, realizing that every street lamp he passes or that it beats like a drum reminds the speaker that luck is inevitable. Midnight in this darkness breaks the memory like a madman waving a bunch of dead flowers.

It's now 1:30 before speaking directly to the speaker. The street lamp coughs and then bumbles. Streetlamp tells the speaker to see a woman in the door. She hesitates, and the talking lamp compares to the light of the door that shines on the woman. The lamp then draws the attention of the narrator to the woman's dress, the lower part of which is torn and sandy. The corner of the woman's eye starts twisting strangely like a bent pin.

Inspired by that turn of the woman's eye, memories flash in the speaker's mind. The speaker thinks of a bent branch on the beach that was smoothed by waves, wind and sand. The speaker compares this stiff, bleached branch to the bone projected from the skeleton of the world. This prompts another memory to come to mind - that of a rusted waterfall in the yard of a factory. The spring has hardened enough that it is ready to snap.

It's 2:30 now. The street lamp speaks again, drawing the speaker's attention to a cat making its way through the gutter. The cat swallows some old rotting butter that it has found. The rapid movement of the cat's tongue while laps the butter leads to another recall for the speaker – this time the way a child slipped a toy into his pocket while running along a pier. The speaker remembers seeing a blank, blank look in the child's eye. The thought of eyes is yet another reminder, this time people peeping into the street through their closed windows. The speaker then recalls the memory of being in the wading pool, and an old, barn-covered crab clings tightly to the stick held by the speaker.

It is now 3:30, and Deepak talks to the speaker again. This time it tells the speaker to look at the moon, and then says, in French, that 'the moon has no complaints.' Deepak describes the moon as a winking and smiling old woman, whose light reaches dark corners and washes over the grass. Deepak says that Moon's memory is gone, and describes his face as covered with dents that look like smallpox marks. In her hand the moon tightly holds a paper rose that smells like dust and old aftershave. The moon is lonely, it has no association except the old smell of the night that comes again and again. Deepak's words shake the memory of the speaker. The speaker contemplates the smell of dead flowers and dusty corners as well as the smell of roasted walnuts in the street, women behind closed doors, cigarettes in hallways and cocktails in bars.

It is now 4:00 in the morning. The talking lamp gives directions to the speaker, pointing to the number (likely a house or apartment building) on the door in front of the speaker. The lamp says 'memory' before saying that the speaker (or, perhaps, 'memory') itself has the key. The lamp then shines on the ladder and tells the speaker to climb up the house/apartment. The bed inside is ready for sleeping, and the speaker's toothbrush is ready for use. Deepak tells the speaker to leave his shoes by the door and then take some rest- to get ready for the day ahead (and life itself). The speaker views this instruction as the final humiliation, or perhaps the final nail in the coffin.
