About Kamrup College
Kamrup College is an undergraduate college established in the year 1966 at Chamata of Nalbari district in Assam. The college is affiliated to Gauhati University.
Kamrup College, Chamata, one of the nerve centres of Higher Education situated in western part of erstwhile Kamrup district, now Nalbari District, was the brain child of some renowned academicians and social thinkers hailing from greater Chamata area. It has continually adapted herself to changing circumstances since its inception (July25, 1966). Imbibed with the noble vision of spreading the seeds of education in the once educationally ‘not so advance’ West Nalbari area, the college has now traversed 48 years of its glorious existence in the realm of higher education.
The College offers courses of study in Arts Facility up to Degree Pass & Major level under Guwahati University. The Higher Secondary Courses of this college offers 10+2 level courses under the ambit of Assam Higher Secondary Council. Though the medium of instruction is generally Assamese, in certain cases, English is retained as complementary to Assamese.
