About Bidhan Chandra College Rishra
Bidhan Chandra College, also known as Rishra College, is one of the oldest colleges at Rishra, in the Hooghly district, West Bengal, India. It offers undergraduate courses in arts, Commerce and sciences. It is affiliated to the University of Calcutta. It was established in 1957.
ADMISSION RULES & PROCEDURE
Students are selected for admission by the Admission Committee of the College according to the admission policy of the college and the rules and regulations prescribed by the University of Calcutta. The students shall have to purchase the booklet entitled “ Admission Regulations 2009” at the time of submitting their Application Forms for admission to the College. The students desirous of getting admission will have to satisfy the requirements prescribed by “ Admission Regulations 2008”, C.U. and the college authority. The application in the prescribed form will have to be submitted within the notified date. The form is to be filled in by the candidate’s own handwriting and must be accompanied by attested photocopies of mark sheet of the last examination passed, admit card or certificate of Madhyamik Pariksha or equivalent examination, duly attested by the Head of the institution last attended by the student. All students, selected for admission, will have to produce those documents in original and furnish two recent stamp sized photographs and requisite fees at the time of admission.
- It is to be noted that students will be admitted strictly according to the marks obtained in the H.S /(10+2) examination and mere submission of filled in application form does not guarantee admission. All admissions are provisional , subject to the approval of the University of Calcutta.
- As per Govt. rules & orders seat reservation is available for S.C./S.T./OBC/ Physically handicapped students.
- The students who have shown their extraordinary performance in state or national level sports and games (both outdoor and indoor) shall be given preference at the time of admission.
