About Islampur College
Islampur College, which started its journey on the 4th of December 1973, has developed into a prominent institution for higher education not only in the Islampur Subdivision but also in the entire North Bengal.
The College is situated at Ajitbas Colony, Islampur, on the National Highway no. 31. The College campus with its two imposing buildings for humanities and Science, the Boys Hostel and the surrounding green fields presents a unique view. Islampur College, at present, is affiliated to the University of North Bengal. Over the last 40 years, the College has emerged as one of the leading educational institutions of North Bengal. The college presently courses in all the three streams i.e. in Arts, in Commerce and in Science.
While general courses are offered in all these streams, Honours Courses are offered in seven arts subjects i.e. History, Political Science, Bengali, English, Philosophy, Urdu, Geography; and in Accountancy and Mathematics in Commerce and Science respectively.
