About Chandrapur College
Chandrapur College, established in 1986, is a general degree college in Chandrapur in Purba Bardhaman district. It offers undergraduate courses in arts, science and commerce. It is affiliated to University of Burdwan.
Chandrapur College is a Government-aided College, affiliated to The University of Burdwan. It was established in August, 1985 on about six acres of land in the village of Chandrapur under the Sargram Gram Panchayat of Katwa Block -I in Burdwan District. The metalled road by the College runs through the village Jabagram that gave birth to Hasan Azizul Haque, the celebrated Bengali story-writer of both Bangladesh and West Bengal. That the agrarian village had farsighted people to feel the need for knowledge and education is affirmed by a Higher Secondary School celebrating centenary year in 2017. Keeping in mind the pressing need of the students from feeder schools around, the arduous people of the local area tried to found a centre of higher education and thus the College came into being.
