There are nine Government Colleges and seven Grant-in-Aid Colleges under the purview of the Department of Higher Education, Chandigarh Administration. Government Home Science College Sector-10 is a pioneer professional institute in Home Science in Northern India, it was established in 1961. Likewise there are six Grant-in-Aid degree colleges and one College for Education, which are contributing to the upliftment of Higher Education in UT Chandigarh.
