Nearly three centuries later, in 1783 AD, there was breakthrough when aviation enthusiasts were able to send a giant, circular cloth envelope flying in the sky to the city of Annon, France. A sheep, a hen and a duck in a basket of balloons had the privilege of being the first air travelers.

In 1853, Sir George Kelly successfully built a boat-shaped contraption, with lower wheels and a large wing, that flew over a canyon. What's more, Kelly placed her driver inside a boat-shaped contraption!

Again in 1891, Otto Lilienthal risked his life by hanging under a craft that he had made of wood and cloth and flew it.
The turning point came in 1903 AD when the Wright brothers gave their first plane to the world in North Carolina. Orville Wright lay down on the plane and Wilbur Wright made his move.

It was only after the speaker had visualized all these historical moments and pioneering experiments that he was awakened by the piercing sound of the alarm clock.
