One day Rajeev's father Madhav took him for a visit to the lighthouse. They started at 5 pm and reached the shore at 6 pm. The lighthouse was a tall, sturdy building in the shape of a tower with powerful lights.

Mr Madhav said that in the days before the construction of the lighthouses, sailors were lost at sea and there was also a danger of ships breaking against high cliffs in the deep sea, as they could not see a safe place to land. Lighthouses directed them to safety.

When Rajeev asked Mr. Madhav when we built the first lighthouse, he replied that he believed that some enterprising youth had set fire to large logs to guide the fishermen to return to shore safely. श्री माधव ने कहा कि प्रकाशस्तंभों के निर्माण से पहले के दिनों में नाविक समुद्र में खो गए थे और गहरे समुद्र में ऊंची चट्टानों के खिलाफ जहाजों के टूटने का भी खतरा था, क्योंकि वे उतरने के लिए सुरक्षित जगह नहीं देख पा रहे थे। प्रकाशस्तंभों ने उन्हें सुरक्षा के लिए निर्देशित किया।

जब राजीव ने श्री माधव से पूछा कि हम पहले लाइटहाउस कब बने हैं, तो उन्होंने जवाब दिया कि उनका मानना है कि कुछ उद्यमी युवकों ने मछुआरों को सुरक्षित रूप से किनारे पर लौटने के लिए मार्गदर्शन करने के लिए बड़े लॉग में आग लगा दी होगी। मछुआरों को समुद्र तट की सुरक्षा के लिए सख्त रोशनी द्वारा निर्देशित किया गया था। वे आइसक्रीम खाकर घर वापस चले गए।
