"The given poem 'Kindness to Animals' is written by an unknown poet. In the poem, the poet is requesting the young children to never give pain to all the things that one feels and lives. She pleads with them Lets the gentle robin (a small brown bird with a red mark on its breast) come and eat the pieces of food that we have saved in our house.

If you allow him to feed on the 'meat' (pieces), he will be grateful to you, and in return for that favor, he will sing a sweet song to please you.

The poet again pleads with the children not to hurt the timid rabbit, peep through his den of green grass. He requests the kids to let it come and play on the lawn in the evening and you can watch it play and entertain yourself.

The poet gives a vivid imagery of a little lark soaring high in the bright sky. It sings happily as if it were spring every day. The little lark is so active that it never gets tired of fluttering and singing all day long.

कवि एक छोटी सी लार्क की विशद कल्पना देता है जो उज्ज्वल आकाश में ऊंची उड़ान भरती है। यह खुशी से गाता है जैसे कि यह हर दिन वसंत था। नन्ही लार्क इतनी सक्रिय है कि वह दिन भर फड़फड़ाते और गाते नहीं थकती।

इसलिए कवि बच्चों से विनती करता है कि वह उसे अपना सुखी गीत गाए और कभी भी 'गलत न करें' यानी इन कोमल प्राणियों को कभी चोट न पहुँचाएँ या न मारें।
