'Oliver Twist' is a very famous and popular story all over the world. The reader never forgets this story which is most memorable and deeply touching. This lesson is an excerpt from "Oliver Twist".

Oher was born on a cold black night in the winter of 1837 to a poor woman in the poor house of a small country town. A doctor attended the iris birth, who was hastily called for the purpose.

As soon as the child took the first breath, his mother died. She was a young, beautiful looking woman and died on the road. It was clear that she had walked some distance before she died. Nobody knew him.

The child started crying loudly. Had he known that he was now an orphan in a poor household, he might have cried even louder.

Mr. Bumble called this kid Oliver Twist. It was the city office and had full authority over the poor house. He considered himself a very noble person and used to mislead and misbehave with children. On his ninth birthday, Oliver was a pale, skinny child. He hardly knew a kind word or a kind form. His friends were his companions in grief. In the end, they got him in trouble. He persuaded her to 'ask more'.

One evening during the meal, as usual, the Guru was serving food to the children. He was serving a small bowl. Food was not enough for the boys as they had a great appetite. One of the elder boys told the master that unless he had an extra bowl of ghee, he would surely eat the boy sleeping next to him. So the little boys believed him. A council was held. Oliver Twist

After the boys swallow their food, they force Oliver to leave. He went to the Guru and asked in a slightly scared voice, "Please sir, I want something else". Guru was a fat healthy man, what did he say 'he couldn't believe his ears.

The Guru hit him on the head, grabbed her by his arms and shouted for the beadle (officer). Mr. Bumble ran and heard of Oliver's crime. He claimed 'asked for more'. I have never heard such a thing, this sad boy will be hanged!

As a punishment, Oliver was locked in a room to spend the whole night alone. Early the next morning a notice was posted at the gate offering a reward of five pounds to any man or woman who took Oliver Twist from that orphanage.

मिस्टर बम्बल ने इस बच्चे को ओलिवर ट्विस्ट कहा। वह नगर कार्यालय था और उसके पास गरीब घर का पूरा अधिकार था। वह खुद को बहुत महान व्यक्ति समझता था और बच्चों को भटकाता और उनके साथ दुर्व्यवहार करता था। अपने नौवें जन्मदिन पर ओलिवर पीला, पतला बच्चा था। वह शायद ही एक तरह का शब्द या कोई दयालु रूप जानता था। उसके दोस्त दुख में उसके साथी थे। अंत में, वे उसे परेशानी में लाए। उन्होंने उसे 'और माँगने' के लिए राजी किया।
