It can pull and push, lift and drive. It can also print, plow, weave and produce heat and light. The machine can do all kinds of work, but cannot understand, cannot lie. It can neither love nor pity and forgive. Man should handle the machines carefully otherwise it gets damaged or dead. Machines are not only useful, but they can also bring major disasters if they are not used properly.

The smoke emanating from the machine can cover the sky and hide God in heaven. After some time it will disappear and we can see the stars again. The machine is big, powerful and heavy, but lifeless, and is driven only by man. It cannot do anything without man. It was also invented by man.

The poem ends with the statement that Ma-Chin, although capable of great works, is still nothing more than the creations of the human mind.

मशीन से निकलने वाला धुआं आसमान को ढक सकता है और भगवान को स्वर्ग में छिपा सकता है। कुछ समय बाद यह गायब हो जाएगा और हम सितारों को फिर से देख सकते हैं। मशीन बड़ी, शक्तिशाली और भारी है, लेकिन बेजान है, और केवल मनुष्य द्वारा संचालित है। पुरुष के बिना यह कुछ नहीं कर सकता। इसका आविष्कार भी मनुष्य ने ही किया है।

कविता इस कथन के साथ समाप्त होती है कि मा-चिन, हालांकि महान कार्यों में सक्षम हैं, फिर भी मानव मस्तिष्क की रचनाओं से ज्यादा कुछ नहीं हैं।
