कवि आरसी प्रसाद सिंह जी ने “जीवन का झरना” शीर्षक कविता में हमेशा गतिशील रहने का संदेश दिया है। जीवन झरने के समान है जो अपने लक्ष्य तक पहुँचने की लगन लिए पथ की बाधाओं से मुठभेड़ करता बढता ही जाता है। गति ही जीवन है और स्थिरता मृत्यु। अतः मनुष्य को भी निर्झर के समान गतिमान रहना चाहिए।

“जीवन और झरना‘‘ दोनों का स्वरूप और आचरण एक जैसा ही है। जिस प्रकार झरना के विषय में यह कहना कठिन है कि वह किस पहाड़ के हृदय से कब कहाँ और क्यों फूट पड़ा। यह झरना किसी पतले से सोते के रूप में और फिर एक विशाल झरने के रूप में झरता हुआ समतल पर उतरकर दोनों किनारों के बीच एक विशाल नदी के रूप में बहने लगा है। इसी प्रकार इस मानव जीवन में सहसा नहीं कहा जा सकता है कि यह ‘मानव जीवन‘ कब, कैसे, क्यों प्रारंभ हुआ, कब धरती पर, मानवों के जीवन प्रवाह के रूप में उतर आया और सुख एवं दुःख के दो किनारों के बीच निरंतर बहने लगा।

→ झरना (निर्झर) अपनी जलपूर्णता में पूरी गतिशीलता से युक्त रहता है। वैसी अवस्था में, जवानी में भी सत्यात्मकता ही एकमात्र स्वभाव होना चाहिए। जिस तरह झरना अपने मस्ती–पूर्ण गान, कल–कल निनाद और आगे बढ़ते जाने के अलावा अन्य कोई चिंता नहीं करता तथा लक्ष्य नहीं रखता, उसी तरह मनुष्य–जीवन का लक्ष्य सतत् विकास–पथ पर प्रगति करते जाना ही होना चाहिए। उसे अन्य तरह की चिन्ताओं में नहीं उलझना चाहिए।

• यह कविता हमें याद दिलाती है कि जीवन में सुख–दुख दोनों को सहज भाव में अपनाते हुए हमेशा आगे बढ़ते रहना चाहिए। हमें काम करने का उत्साह भरे रहना चाहिए। आगे बढ़ने में विघ्न–बाधाएँ यदि आती हैं तो आएँ, हम उनका जमकर सामना करें, उन पर काबू प्राप्त करें और अपनी मंजिल की ओर बढ़ चलें जैसा एक झरना करता है। हममें भी वैसी ही मस्ती भरी रहनी चाहिए।

→ कवि का कहना है कि निर्झर तथा जीवन दोनों के लिए गतिशीलता अनिवार्य है। जीवन में कर्म की प्रगतिशीलता ही उसे सार्थकता तथा जीवन्तता का आकर्षण प्रदान करती है। अन्यथा जीवित अवस्था में होने के बावजूद मृत्यु बोधक स्थायित्व या ठहराव आ जायेगा।

ठहराव निर्झर (झरना) तथा जीवन दोनों के लिए समान रूप से अंत या मृत्यु का सूचक होता है क्योंकि दोनों का समान धर्म (आगे बढ़ते रहना) है।
