Brief introduction of the poem:

Here his famous poem ‘Badal ko ghirte dekha hai’ is given. Through this poem, he has presented a realistic picture of the rare flora, fauna, eunuchs and the entire life world prevalent there amidst the Himalayan hills, inaccessible snowy valleys, lakes, waterfalls and deodar forests. It seems that the poet has lived among them and what he has lived has become the poet's truth and has been expressed in poetry. In the literary tradition, till now only the soft form of the cloud had come to the fore, but Nagarjuna has also given a vivid and detailed description of the fierceness and ruggedness of the cloud, i.e. all the forms in which he saw and lived. In true sense, Nagarjuna moves ahead from the tradition of Kalidasa and is different from him, this poem is proof of that.

Essence of the poem:

This poem is compiled from Nagarjuna's poetry collection 'Yugadhara'. This poem is a beautiful example of nature depiction. With the arrival of the rainy season, the entire nature seems to cool its fire, the poet has expressed this feeling through various images. The images of swans calming the heat of Pavas, love-fight between Chakwa-Chakai, deer roaming in the lap of Himalayas, Aries on the skyscraper Kailash peak, eunuchs and eunuchs have become very attractive.

The poet tells that when the rainy season covers the clean and white peaks, the entire nature is filled with joy. The dew particles on the golden lotuses of Manasarovar appear like pearls. The swans from the plains, troubled by the humidity of the monsoon season, come here in search of the Mrinal sticks floating in the lake. Chakwa-Chakvi, who suffer the pain of separation throughout the night, gets engrossed in his keli-krada as soon as dawn comes. The cloud cover over the mountains reminds us of Kalidas's poetic work 'Meghdoot'. The poet has seen the thundering clouds clashing with the thunderstorms on Mount Kailash in the harsh winter. The poet, fascinated by the beauty of the mountains, remembers the luxurious life of eunuchs and eunuchs. They are seen enjoying Drakshasava and music in an atmosphere of fun.

कविता का संक्षिप्त परिचय :

यहाँ उनकी प्रसिद्ध कविता ‘बादल को घिरते देखा है’ दी गई है। इस कविता के माध्यम से उन्होंने हिमालय की पहाड़ियों, दुर्गम बर्फीली घाटियों, झीलों, झरनों तथा देवदारु के जंगलों के बीच दुर्लभ वनस्पतियों, जीव-जंतुओं, किन्नर-किन्नरियों तथा वहाँ व्याप्त समस्त जीवन-जगत का यथार्थ चित्र प्रस्तुत किया है। ऐसा लगता है कि कवि उनके बीच जिया है और जो जिया है वही कवि-सत्य बनकर कविता में अभिम्यक्त हुआ है। साहित्य परंपरा में बादल का कोमल रूप ही अब तक सामने आया था, किंतु नागार्जुन ने उसके साथ ही बादल की विकरालता, बीहड़ता यानी जिन-जिन रूपों में देखा, जिया उन-उन रूपों का विशद, विस्तृत वर्णन किया है। सही मायने में कालिदास की परंपरा से नागार्जुन आगे बढ़ते हैं, उनसे अलग होते हैं, यह कविता उसका प्रमाण है।

कविता का सार :

यह कविता नागार्जुन के कविता संग्रह ‘युगधारा’ से संकलित है। यह कविता प्रकृति चित्रण का सुंदर उदाहरण है। वर्षा ऋतु आने पर सारी प्रकृति जैसे अपनी विरहाग्नि शांत करती नजर आती है, इसी भाव को कवि ने विविध बिम्ब्रों से व्यक्त किया है। पावस की उमस को शांत करते हुए हंस, चकवा-चकई का प्रणय-कलह, हिमालय की गोद में विचरण करते हुए हिरण, गगनचुंबी कैलाश शिखर पर मेष, किन्नर-किन्नरियों के बिम्ब अत्यंत आकर्षक बन पड़े हैं।

कवि बताता है कि जब स्वच्छ और धवल शिखरों पर वर्षाकालीन मेष छा जाते हैं तो संपूर्ण प्रकृति उल्लास से भर जाती है। मानसरोवर के सुनहरे कमलों पर ओस कण मोतियों के समान झलकते हैं। पावस की उमस से व्याकुल समतल प्रदेशों के हंस झील में तैरते मृणाल दंडों को खोजते हुए यहाँ तक आ जाते हैं। रात भर विरह की पीड़ा झेलने वाले चकवा-चकवी उषाकाल होते ही अपनी केलि-क्रड़़ा में मग्न हो जाते हैं। सैंकड़ों-हजारों फुट दुर्गम बर्फीली घाटी में अपनी ही नाभि से उउने वाले मादक परिमल को न पा सकने पर युवा मृग खीझता रहता है।

पर्वतों पर छाई घटा कालिदास की काव्यकृति ‘ मेघदूत’ की याद दिला देती है। कवि ने भीषण जाड़ों में कैलाश पर्वत पर गरजते मेघों को झंंशावात से भिड़ते देखा है। पर्वतीय शोभा पर मु’्ध कवि को किन्नर-किन्नरियों का विलासपूर्ण जीवन याद आ जाता है। वे मस्ती के वातावरण में द्राक्षासव तथा संगीत का आनंद उठाते दिखाई देते हैं।
