In this story, Jody's father is bitten by a rattlesnake. He quickly kills a doe and uses its heart and liver to extract the poison. तभी वह फॉन को अपना चेहरा उठाते देख चौंक गया। हिल रहा था। जोडी उसके पास गया और उसके शरीर के चारों ओर अपनी बाहें डाल दीं। इसकी त्वचा कोमल और साफ थी। यह लात नहीं मारी। न ही ब्लीट। उसने उसका चेहरा काँटेदार पौधों से बचाया। उसने उसे उठाया और जितनी तेजी से चल सकता था, चला गया जब तक कि वह सड़क के घर के साथ चौराहे पर नहीं आ गया।

थक जाने पर उसने उसे नीचे रख दिया और कुछ देर विश्राम किया। वह फिर से उसे कुछ दूर तक अपनी बाहों में ले गया। अंत में, वह घर पहुंचा और अपने पिता के कमरे में फॉन ले लिया। पेनी इसे देखकर खुश हुआ। जोडी ने उसे दूध पीने को दिया। उसने अपनी उंगलियों को दूध में डुबोया और उसे चूसने दिया। फिर उसने दूध की आखिरी बूंद पी ली। जोडी अब खुश था।
