'The Summer of the Beautiful White Horse' is narrated by nine-year-old Aram Garoglanian, a member of the Armenian community who lives among the lush fruit orchards and vineyards of Armenia. One morning Aram is awakened at four in the morning by his thirteen-year-old cousin Mourad, who is believed to be neurotic to everyone except Aram and has a way with the animals.

Aram is astonished to see Morad sitting on a beautiful white horse. Aram always wanted to ride a Sarayam horse, but his family is so poor that he cannot ride a horse. However, despite being poor, the Garoghlanian tribe is noted for their honesty and trust, as a result, it is inconceivable that Morad would have stolen the horse. Aram felt that his cousin could not steal the horse.

Aram was invited to ride on a horse with Morad. The idea of stealing Morad's horse was so far removed from Aram's mind that it would not be stolen unless they offered to sell the horse. He enjoyed horse riding for a few hours. Mourad's insane behavior was believed to be of natural descent from his uncle Khosrov, even though his father Zorb was a practical man. Uncle Khosrov was a huge man who was always furious, impatient and irritable.

He roars to stop talking to everyone and says there is nothing wrong with it, ignore it. In fact, one day, when his son came and told him that their house was on fire, Khosrov silenced him by roaring "That's it. It's no harm". After a short ride, Morad wanted to ride the horse alone.

She informed Aram's mother that her white horse which was stolen a month ago is still missing. Hearing this, Aram concludes that, Morad must have had the horse for a long time.
