Rangaaz Marriage, composed by Masti Venkatesh Iyengar, is the story of a boy who returns to his village after receiving English medium education from Bangalore. The boy is the son of the village accountant. He lives in Hosahalli village, Mysore. When the boy returns, the whole village comes upon him to see if there is any change in his personality. However, to their dismay, they still have the same eyes and mouth and everything else.

He did the traditional namaskar and everyone dispersed. The story is a first-person narrative and a large part of the story is in flashbacks. The speaker addresses the reader directly. The narrator is the neighbor of the protagonist. He presents the story with a difference by first giving a detailed account of their village Hosahalli. He admires the mangoes of his village. He asks the reader if he has ever heard of the village. He himself answers this question, because the village was not located on any map for the English babus and the people of our country forgot to place it there.

He then introduces the protagonist, Ranga, ten years earlier at a time. Ranga had gone to Bangalore for studies and returned home after six months. This was the time when English was not popular and few people used it. Everyone used to talk in Kannada. All the villagers reached Ranga's place and started investigating him. To their dismay, he was still the same old Ranga and they left in despair. However, the narrator stopped and shared some jokes with the boy and then left. Later in the afternoon, Ranga reached the narrator's house with some oranges.

The narrator judged the boy and thought it appropriate to marry such an educated and humble boy. However, Ranga had no plans to settle down as a married man. He expressed his views on marriage to the narrator that he wanted to marry a mature girl and someone Rangappa could admire.

Ranga left after discussion and the narrator then decided that he would get the boy married. Determined, he starts considering Rama Rao's niece Ratna as a suitable bride for Ranga. She was from a big city and knew how to play Veena and Harmonium. He came up with a plan. He asked Rama Rao's wife to send Ratna to his house to get some buttermilk.

That's why she came on Friday wearing a gorgeous sari. He requested Ratna to sing and sent for Ranga. Ranga reached the narrator's place and stopped outside the room as he did not want to interrupt the singing but was eager to see his face, so Ratna looked at the stranger and stopped suddenly. Ranga came and the girl left. Out of curiosity, he inquired about the girl and the narrator cleverly used her words. He told Ranga that the girl had got married a year back and the disappointment was visible on Ranga's face.

He was attracted to the girl. The narrator was happy because his plan was working. As his next step, the next day the narrator took Ranga to an astrologer, whom he had already taught what to say. It was the meeting with the astrologer when the narrator's name was revealed. Shyama was The astrologer pretended to read Rangappa's birth chart and declared that the boy was in love with a girl whose name was found in the ocean. Shyama said that it could be Rama Rao's niece Ratna.

Ranga's smile was not hidden from Shyama. But the girl was married! The narrator took the boy to Rama Rao's house and asked him to wait outside. When he came out he confirmed that the girl is not married, there was some confusion. After all, the narrator had to come up with something. Even Ranga admitted that he was attracted to the girl.

A later conversation between the astrologer and the narrator is described as how the astrologer states that although the narrator had given him the clue, he could have discovered it himself through astrology. The story moves forward ten years, or rather, returns to the present. Rangappa came to the narrator one day to invite his son Shyama on his third birthday. Apparently Ratna and Ranga were married. And now they have a three-year-old son named Ranga after the narrator.

वह लड़की के प्रति आकर्षित था। कथाकार खुश था क्योंकि उसकी योजना काम कर रही थी। अपने अगले कदम के रूप में, अगले दिन कथाकार रंगा को एक ज्योतिषी के पास ले गया, जिसे उसने पहले ही सिखाया था कि क्या कहना है। यह ज्योतिषी के साथ बैठक थी जब कथावाचक के नाम का खुलासा किया गया था। श्यामा थे। ज्योतिषी ने रंगप्पा के जन्मपत्री को पढ़ने का नाटक किया और घोषित किया कि लड़का एक लड़की से प्यार करता था, जिसका नाम समुद्र में पाया गया था। श्यामा ने कहा कि यह रामा राव की भतीजी रत्ना हो सकती है।

बाद में ज्योतिषी और कथावाचक के बीच की बातचीत का वर्णन किया गया है कि कैसे ज्योतिषी कहता है कि हालांकि कथावाचक ने उसे सुराग दिया था, लेकिन वह ज्योतिष के माध्यम से इसे स्वयं ही खोज सकता था। कहानी दस साल आगे बढ़ती है, या यूं कहें कि वर्तमान में लौट आती है। रंगप्पा एक दिन अपने बेटे श्यामा के तीसरे जन्मदिन पर उसे आमंत्रित करने के लिए वर्णनकर्ता के पास आया। जाहिर है रत्ना और रंगा की शादी हो चुकी थी। और अब उनका एक तीन साल का बेटा है जिसका नाम रंगा ने कथाकार के नाम पर रखा।
