'The Voice of the Rain' is a poem that celebrates rain and its natural cycle for the benefit of the earth and the life it supports. The poem begins with the poet asking the identity of the soft-falling rain shower. The poet is surprised that Varsha answers his question. And, the poet translates this 'voice' of rain to his readers.

Rains identifies itself as the 'Poetry of the Earth'. It says that it rises as intangible water vapor, from land and deep sea, and travels to the bottomless sky. Then it takes the form of clouds of different shapes. Though it changes in its form and shape, its basic existence remains the same.

It descends or falls on the Earth's surface to eliminate drought, wash away small particles and settle the dust layers. It rejuvenates dry land and gives life to seeds that, otherwise, would have been dormant and unborn. Thus the raindrops rise up in the form of vapor and return to their original place in the form of rain. During this cycle, it purifies and beautifies the planet (by nurturing the unborn seeds).

The last two lines of the poem are the poet's reflection on the answer given by Varsha. The poet sees that the life of rain is like a song. A song emerges from the poet's heart, travels to reach others and after fulfilling its purpose (whether acknowledged or not), it returns to the poet with full love. Similarly, rain emerges from the land and oceans, wanders, fulfilling its purpose of nurturing life and purifying the planet, and then returns to its birthplace.

'द वॉयस ऑफ द रेन' एक कविता है जो पृथ्वी और उसके द्वारा समर्थित जीवन के लाभ के लिए बारिश और उसके प्राकृतिक चक्र का जश्न मनाती है। कविता की शुरुआत कवि द्वारा नरम-गिरती बारिश की बौछार की पहचान पूछने के साथ होती है। कवि को आश्चर्य होता है कि वर्षा उसके प्रश्न का उत्तर देती है। और, कवि अपने पाठकों के लिए बारिश की इस 'आवाज' का अनुवाद करता है।

बारिश खुद को 'पृथ्वी की कविता' के रूप में पहचानती है। यह कहता है कि यह भूमि और गहरे समुद्र से, अमूर्त जल वाष्प के रूप में उगता है, और अथाह आकाश तक जाता है। फिर यह विभिन्न आकृतियों के बादलों का रूप धारण कर लेता है। हालांकि यह अपने रूप और आकार में बदल जाता है, लेकिन इसका मूल अस्तित्व वही रहता है।
