Tsunami Part 1 Lesson Summary
Various stories of natural disaster are prevalent from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. One of the stories is of Igneous, the manager of a cooperative society in Katchal. His wife felt the tremors and made a noise.

The waves swept away his wife and two children along with his maternal uncle and grandfather. However, he survived with three other children.

Another story of Sanjeev, a policeman rescues a family, but gets swept away when he tries to save the drowning wife of a guest house cook.

Almas was a student of Carmel Convent School in Port Blair. She had gone to her mother's house in Nan Cowry Island to celebrate Christmas. He lost his father and grandfather as the wave seduced them. Her father sensed the impending disaster and tried to take her to a safe place.

Then the struggle continued as her mother and aunt were initially clinging to a coconut tree but she was uprooted by the gust of water. Almas saved his life by resorting to a wooden log. He was taken to the hospital and then shifted to Port Blair. The impact still traumatized him.

Tsunami Part 2 Lesson Summary
This part of the lesson discusses the story of ten-year-old British schoolgirl Tilly Smith. Smith's family, including Tilly, his seven-year-old sister, Penny, and Colin Smith, went to southern Thailand to celebrate Christmas.

Penny Smith panicked when she saw that the beaches were covered with water after the earthquake. Tilly Smith had watched a geography video lesson showing him the cause and effect of a tsunami.
