संसार के आरंभ में विभिन्न पशु मनुष्य के अधीन कार्य करने लगे। एक ऊंट था जिसे लाठी, कांटों और कांटों पर खिलाया जाता था, एक हॉवेलिंग रेगिस्तान के बीच में रहता था। किसी भी काम को करने में उनकी रुचि नहीं थी। अगर उनसे पूछा भी गया तो उनका एक ही जवाब था हम्फ।

ऊंट ने उत्तर दिया 'हम्फ'। बैल ने इस बारे में आदमी को सूचना दी। दिन के अंत में उन्होंने उस आदमी से शिकायत की। लेकिन उस आदमी ने उन्हें मेकअप करने के लिए डबल टाइम काम करने को कहा।

इससे तीनों नाराज हो गए और उन्होंने रेगिस्तान के किनारे एक पंचायत की। ऊंट ने उसकी बात सुनी लेकिन उनकी बात को अनसुना कर दिया और चला गया। फिर जिन्न प्रकट हुए जो सभी रेगिस्तानों के प्रभारी थे।

उन्होंने जिन्न के सामने अपनी शिकायतें रखीं। और फिर उसने उसे सबक सिखाने का फैसला किया। जिन्न ने अपने आप को धूल के लबादे में लपेट लिया और ऊंट को खोजने के लिए रेगिस्तान में चले गए।

जिन्न ने उस ऊंट को फटकार लगाई जो आईने में अपना प्रतिबिंब देख रहा था। उन्होंने काम न करने का कारण पूछा। ऊंट से सोमवार से तीन काम करने की उम्मीद थी।

जिन्न ने उनके जवाब का इंतजार किया जिन्होंने बदले में 'हम्फ' कहा। जिन्न ने उसे यह कहकर चेतावनी दी कि वह बार-बार 'हम्फ' नहीं कहेगा। वह बस चाहता था कि वह काम करे। उनके अड़ियल रवैये ने जिन्न को नाराज कर दिया।

ऊँट जब पानी में अपना प्रतिबिम्ब देख रहा था तो अचानक उसकी पीठ में एक गांठ हो गई। जिन्न ने उसे समझाया कि जब सोमवार से उसे काम करने के लिए कहा गया तो ऊंट इनकार की स्थिति में था।

गुरुवार को उन्हें अपने गुनाहों की सजा मिली। ऊंट यह देखकर चौंक गया और उसने अपनी पीठ पर इस कूबड़ के साथ 'मैं कैसे कर सकता हूं' पूछा। जिन्न ने कहा कि वह बिना खाना या पानी लिए अपना काम पूरा कर सकते हैं।

In the beginning of the world various animals started working under man. There was a camel that was fed on sticks, thorns and thorns, lived in the middle of a howling desert. He was not interested in doing any work. Even if he was asked, his only answer was Humph.

The genie rebuked the camel which was looking at its reflection in the mirror. He asked the reason for not working. The camel was expected to do three jobs from Monday.

The Genie waited for his reply who in turn said 'Humph'. The genie warns him by saying that he will not say 'Humph' again and again. He just wanted it to work. His obstinate attitude angered the genie.

When the camel was looking at its image in the water, suddenly there was a lump in its back. The genie explained to him that the camel was in a state of denial when he was asked to work from Monday.

He got the punishment for his crimes on Thursday. The camel was shocked to see this and asked 'how can I do' with this hump on its back. The jinn said that he could complete his work without taking food or water.

The genie also said that he favors the camel and that he should now join the three. He warned to behave properly. However, he still hasn't caught up to the first three days he missed at the beginning of the world. His hunch in the present is a punishment for his past mistake.
