On Christmas Eve, when Ray, a vintage watch shop owner, was about to close his shop, two men came in at the last minute. They soon realized that they did not intend to buy a watch but could rob it.

By some gestures, he told that he was deaf, and could not hear. He put forward a message written on the note pad. Realizing his deformity, the intruder smiled smartly.

However, it seems that they were trying their luck at first and may later feel sorry for their behavior. Now Ray played a trick and told them about a deal in which he offered a loan on old watches.

In fact he was a kind person and often gave loans more than the actual price. He further said that if the owner wants his watch or watches, he returns them at the same price without any interest.

The customers were impressed by the old man's generosity and took out a watch and asked him about the loan he could give.

Ray saw the regret in the men's eyes and asked about his proposal. Whereas in return the man wanted to know about its real value.

Sensing the dire situation, Ray took out a fifty dollar note from his cash box and handed it over to the man. The man was obliged and he seemed satisfied because the price of the watch was high.

He wrote that he would come to get his watch back and wished Ray. 'Merry Christmas!'.
