एक बार एक जंगल में एक पेड़ पर एक चिड़िया अपने दो बच्चों के साथ रहती थी। पेड़ लंबा और छायादार था। घोंसले में बच्चों की देखभाल माँ करती थी। जब तक एक बड़ा तूफान उनका घोंसला उड़ा नहीं देता।

एक शाखा ने मां को मारा और मार डाला। तेज हवा के कारण दोनों युवक अलग हो गए। उनमें से एक एक गुफा में गिर गया जहाँ लुटेरों का एक गिरोह रहता था।

उसने अपशब्द सीखे और आगन्तुकों को लूटने की बात कही। जबकि, दूसरा चिड़िया एक ऋषि के साथ पली-बढ़ी। उन्होंने मेहमानों का स्वागत करना सीखा।

एक बार उस देश का राजा शिकार के लिए जंगल में गया। हिरण का पीछा करते हुए वह रास्ता भटक गया। थके हुए होने के कारण, वह एक आश्रय खोजने के लिए चला गया। वह घोड़े से उतरा और एक पेड़ के नीचे बैठ गया।

तभी उसने एक पक्षी की आवाज सुनी जो चोरों को निर्देश दे रहा था कि वे जल्दी से आएं और राजा का कीमती सामान छीन लें। तुरंत राजा ने धमकी देखी, वहाँ से भाग गया। फिर वह एक आश्रम में गया।

वह आराम करना चाहता था क्योंकि वह एक पेड़ की छाया के नीचे बहुत थक गया था। एक आवाज सुनकर वह हैरान रह गया जिसने उसका स्वागत किया। उस स्वागत भाव ने उसे चौंका दिया और उसने दूसरे पक्षी के बारे में पूछा।

चिड़िया ने उसे अपने पिछले अनुभव के बारे में बताया। राजा और ऋषि ने चर्चा की कि किसी व्यक्ति या जानवर का व्यवहार पर्यावरण पर निर्भर करता है। चोरों की संगति में बढ़ते हुए पहले पक्षी ने व्यवहार किया। जबकि दूसरा पक्षी संत की संगति में बड़ा हुआ, इसलिए उसने सर्वोत्तम व्यवहार सीखा।

Once upon a time in a forest, a bird lived on a tree with its two children. The tree was tall and shady. The mother took care of the babies in the nest. Until a big storm blew up their nest.

A branch hit and killed the mother. Due to the strong wind, the two youths got separated. One of them fell into a cave where a gang of robbers lived.

He learned abusive words and talked about robbing the visitors. Whereas, the other bird grew up with a sage. He learned to welcome guests.

Once the king of that country went to the forest for hunting. While chasing the deer, he lost his way. Being weary, he went to find a shelter. He got off the horse and sat under a tree.

Then he heard a bird's voice instructing the thieves to come quickly and snatch the king's valuables. Immediately the king saw the threat, ran away. Then he went to an ashram.

He wanted to rest because he was very tired under the shade of a tree. He was surprised to hear a voice that welcomed him. That welcoming gesture startled him and he asked about the other bird.

The bird told him about his past experience. The king and the sage discussed that the behavior of a person or an animal depends on the environment. Growing up in the company of thieves, the first bird behaved. While the other bird grew up in the company of the saint, so he learned best practices.
