पांडव उत्तर की ओर यात्रा करने लगे। कुछ ही दिनों में वे हिमालय पहुँच गए। वह पहाड़ों पर चढ़ने लगा। जब वे मेरु पर्वत पर पहुँचे, तो वे थके हुए और थके हुए थे। तभी एक भयानक घटना घटी, द्रौपदी मर गई और गिर पड़ी। पांडव चौंक गए लेकिन कुछ नहीं कर सके। उन्हें यात्रा जारी रखनी थी। तब सहदेव गिर पड़े।
