One morning, when Vishal was waking up in bed, he heard some lovely music. It sounded very sweet to Vishal's ears. Outside her window was a little linnet singing. The demon thought that spring had finally arrived. The children had entered through a small hole in the wall. They sat on the branches of the trees and were very happy to have the tree children again. It was still winter in the farthest corner of the garden. In that corner, a little boy was trying to reach the branches, but he could not do so because he was so small. Vishal's heart moved. He understood that he was selfish. He was really sorry for what he had done. He went to the garden and the frightened children ran away and it was winter again in the garden. There was only the little boy there and the demon slowly made him climb the tree. The tree immediately blossomed, the birds were singing and the boy kissed it. The other kids saw this and ran back. Spring came with them. Vishal was no longer evil. He took the ax and broke the wall. He started playing with them. In the evening, the demon learned that the little boy he had kept on the tree was gone. Every afternoon, children used to come and play with the monster. But he never again saw the little boy he loved. Vishal had become old and weak. So, he sat there and watched the kids play their games. One winter morning, the giant was filled with wonder at the sight of a little boy standing under a tree in the farthest corner of the garden. In great joy, the demon ran downstairs to the garden and went to the child. Seeing the wounds on the hands and feet of the boy, his face turned red with anger. The demon cried that he would kill the man who had injured the little boy. The child asked the demon not to do so as they were wounds of love. The little boy asked the demon to come with him to his garden. The child climbed into the arms of the old giant and they both went to the Garden of Paradise.
