They are not deceivers or pretenders, but they pick up other people's umbrellas and don't intentionally return it. They have no sense of shame or apology.

The narrator has a similar feeling for those who never return books to the library or others. He also has examples of religious persons who do such things. Hence, the narrator advises us not to trust even our dearest friends in such matters. He has also met many people who do not hesitate to take others' caps. They don't do it unintentionally but deliberately because they have lost their sanity. They do not hesitate to do so even in the upper class society.

The narrator states that sometimes someone does this by mistake and as soon as he knows the real owner, he returns it properly with an excuse. Once he himself found out that the silk umbrella he had received in return had come a long way with a series of exchanges. There is a strange experience in his life.

यह निबंध लोगों की दूसरों की चीजों को उठा लेने और फिर उसी क्षण उन्हें दूसरों द्वारा खो देने की आदत पर एक व्यंग्य है। कथाकार एक बार अपना रेशमी छाता खो देता है और बदले में उसे एक सूती छाता मिलता है। वह सोचता है कि जिस आदमी ने उसकी रेशमी छतरी उठा ली होगी, वह शायद स्मार्ट महसूस कर रहा होगा। ऐसे लोगों के लिए कथाकार की राय बिल्कुल भी अच्छी नहीं होती है। वह सोचता है कि इन लोगों के पास छत्र विवेक है। वे धोखेबाज या ढोंग करने वाले व्यक्ति नहीं हैं, लेकिन वे अन्य लोगों की छतरियां उठाते हैं और जानबूझकर उसे वापस नहीं करते हैं। उन्हें शर्म या माफी की कोई भावना नहीं है।
