கடிதத்தின் இந்தப் பகுதி ரயிலுக்கு வெளியே உள்ள காட்சிகளை தெளிவாகக் காட்டுகிறது. பசுமையான வயல்கள் மற்றும் தோட்டங்களுக்கு அழகான பின்னணியை உருவாக்கும் ஊதா-நீல மலைகளுடன் காட்சி அழகாக இருந்தது. குழந்தைகளுடன் ஒட்டிக்கொண்ட குரங்குகள் தண்டவாளங்கள் முழுவதும் ஓடிக்கொண்டிருந்தன. தண்டவாளத்தில் ரயில் வளைவதைப் பார்த்து ஜன்னலுக்கு வெளியே சாய்ந்த சிறுமியிடம் இருந்து குரங்கு ஒன்று வாழைப்பழத்தை பறிக்க முயன்றது. அவள் ஒரு அலறல் கொடுத்துவிட்டு பின் நகர்ந்தாள். மலைகளை மூடியிருந்த மூடுபனி மேகங்களும், சிறிய நீர்வீழ்ச்சியுடன் கூடிய குமிழ் நீரோடையும், அழகான நீல நிறப் பறவையும் பார்ப்பதற்கு அற்புதமாக இருந்தன. திடீரென சத்தத்துடன் ரயில் நின்றது. என்ன நடந்தது என்பதைப் பார்க்க சிறுவர்கள் மிகவும் உற்சாகமாக இருந்தனர். எனவே ரயிலில் இருந்து வெளியேற அனுமதிக்குமாறு ஆசிரியரிடம் மன்றாடினர். இறுதியில், முழு பெட்டியும் வெளியேறியது. என்ன ஒரு காட்சி அவர்களின் கண்களை வரவேற்றது!

Gita and two other teachers went with a group of twenty women and men from the sixth grade. Merlin had asked her grandmother about the beautiful journey to Ooty on the toy train. She said it was a wonderful ride up and down the slopes where birds and trees danced along the way. Merlin wrote that he was very excited when he got on the toy train with his friends. There were wooden chairs, upholstered seats and oil-painted walls. She invited her friend Fatima to sit next to her.

They enjoyed the view from the toy train. Mrs. Geeta, their teacher, came around to see if they were all seated properly. The train departed with a bang and moved slowly. Everyone applauded happily. Pearl, a boy, wanted to walk on the side of the train because it was going so slow. But his teacher scolded him to go to the seat immediately. All the women laughed at this, and Pearl sat quietly with her long face.
Section II

This part of the letter clearly shows the scenes outside the train. The view was beautiful with purple-blue mountains creating a beautiful backdrop for lush fields and gardens. Stuck monkeys with children were running across the tracks. One of the monkeys tried to snatch a banana from the girl who was leaning out of the window as she saw the train bending over the tracks. She let out a scream and then moved on. The fog that covered the mountains, the bubbling water with the small waterfall and the beautiful blue bird were wonderful to see. Suddenly the train stopped with a noise. The boys were very excited to see what happened. So they begged the teacher to allow them to get off the train. Eventually, the whole box came out. What a sight welcomed their eyes!
Section III

This section describes what happened along the way. On the tracks sat a cute baby elephant. The mother elephant sounded the trumpet loudly. The engine driver and others tried to calm the child off the rails with bananas. But the mother elephant did not allow anyone near the cub. So they were making various noises to move the baby elephant from there.

Then, Pearl went near the baby with the bananas. As it moved to feed on it, he moved backwards. He did this until the baby came out on the side of the rail. Everyone cheered as the baby and mother started eating bananas. The train, which had boarded as everyone was eating, departed after a half-hour delay.

Merlin concluded the letter by saying that it was a wonderful journey. It was dizzy to hear the sounds of streams and waterfalls. She will never forget the vast, windswept tea gardens, the cloudy mountains, the movable trees, and the chirping of birds. The whole group was very excited by the trip.
