ஜங்கிள் புக் எழுதியவர் ருட்யார்ட் கிப்லிங். காட்டில் காட்டு விலங்குகளுக்கு நடுவே சிறுவனின் இளமைப் பருவத்தைக் கையாள்வதால் இந்தக் கதையை குழந்தைகள் ரசிக்கிறார்கள். இந்த கதையில் வரும் பாத்திரங்கள் தந்தை ஓநாய், தாய் ஓநாய், தபாக்கி (நரி), ஷேர் கான் (புலி), மனிதனின் குட்டி (மௌக்லி), ஓநாய் குட்டிகள் மற்றும் கதை சொல்பவர்கள்.

சீயோனி ஹில்ஸில் காட்சி தொடங்குகிறது. மாலை ஏழு மணி ஆகியிருந்தது. வானத்தில் நட்சத்திரங்கள் இல்லை. காட்டில் இருள் சூழ்ந்திருந்தது. தந்தை ஓநாய் தனது அன்றைய ஓய்வில் இருந்து எழுந்து வேட்டைக்குத் தயாரானார். தாய் ஓநாய் தனது நான்கு குட்டிகளை குகையின் வாயில் இறக்கிவிட்டாள், அங்கு அவை அனைத்தும் வாழ்கின்றன. ஃபாதர் வுல்ஃப் கீழ்நோக்கி கீழ்நோக்கி நகர்ந்தார், அங்கு அவர் குள்ளநரி தபாக்கியை சந்திக்கிறார். ஷேர் கான் தனது வேட்டையாடும் இடத்தை மாற்றிவிட்டதாக அவர் தந்தை ஓநாய் மற்றும் தாய் ஓநாய்க்கு தெரிவித்தார்.

அதனால் அடுத்த நிலவுக்கு அந்த மலைகளுக்கு மத்தியில் வேட்டையாடுவேன் என்று தபாகியிடம் கூறியிருந்தார். ஷேர் கான் என்பது சீயோனி மலையிலிருந்து இருபது மைல் தொலைவில் வைங்குங்கா ஆற்றின் அருகே வாழ்ந்த புலி. தந்தை வுல்ஃப் கோபமடைந்து, அங்கு வருவதற்கும், உரிய எச்சரிக்கையுடன் தனது குடியிருப்பை மாற்றுவதற்கும் தனக்கு உரிமை இல்லை என்று கூறினார். ஷேர் கான் பிறந்ததிலிருந்தே ஒரு கால் ஊனமுற்றவராக இருந்ததால், அவரது தாயார் அவரை லுங்கிரி (லாம்ட் ஒன்) என்று அழைத்ததாக அன்னை ஓநாய் அவர்களிடம் கூறினார். வைங்குங்கா கிராம மக்கள் அவர் மீது கோபமடைந்தனர், மேலும் அவர் தங்கள் கிராம மக்களை கோபப்படுத்துவதற்காக அங்கு வந்துள்ளார். ஷேர் கான் மீது தீ வைத்துவிட்டு ஓட வேண்டும் என்று அவள் சொன்னாள். இதைக் கேட்ட குள்ளநரி, கீழே காட்டில் ஷேர் கான் சத்தம் கேட்கிறது என்று சொல்லிவிட்டு நகர்ந்தான்.

ஃபாதர் வுல்ஃப், ஒன்றும் பிடிக்காத புலியின் வறண்ட, கோபமான சிணுங்கலைக் கேட்டார். அந்த இரைச்சலுடன் ஒரு இரவு வேலையைத் தொடங்க ஷேர் கானை முட்டாள் என்று தந்தை வுல்ஃப் அழைத்தார். ஷேர் கான் ஒரு மனிதனை வேட்டையாட விரும்புவதாகவும், வேறு எந்த மிருகத்தையல்ல என்றும் அன்னை ஓநாய் அவரிடம் கூறினார். ஷேர் கானின் சிணுங்கல் திசைகாட்டியின் ஒவ்வொரு காலாண்டிலிருந்தும் வருவது போல் ஒரு வகையான ஹம்மிங் பர்ருக்கு மாறியது. அந்த சத்தம்தான் காட்டில் இருந்த அனைவரையும் பயமுறுத்தியது.

குழந்தை சூடான தோலை நெருங்க குட்டிகளுக்கு இடையில் தள்ளியது. அந்த மனிதனின் குட்டியுடன் தாய் ஓநாய் மகிழ்ச்சியடைந்தது. ஷேர் கான் நுழைவாயிலுக்கு வந்து குழந்தையை கேட்டார். குகையின் வாய் மிகவும் குறுகலாக இருந்ததால் அதற்குள் புலி செல்ல முடியவில்லை. அன்னை ஓநாய் ஷேர் கானை தைரியமாக எதிர்கொண்டது. மனிதனின் குட்டி தனக்கு சொந்தமானது என்று அவள் சொன்னாள். அவர் அவர்களுடன் வாழ்ந்து இறுதியில் ஷேர் கானை வேட்டையாடுவார். தாய் ஓநாயின் தைரியத்தைக் கண்டு தந்தை ஓநாய் வியப்படைந்தார். ஷேர் கான் குகையிலிருந்து பின்வாங்கி, மேன் கிளப் தனக்குச் சொந்தமானது என்று வலியுறுத்தினார்.

தாய் ஓநாய் குட்டிகளுக்கு இடையே மூச்சிரைக்கத் தன்னைத்தானே தூக்கி எறிந்தது, மேலும் மான்-குட்டியை வைத்திருக்க விரும்புகிறீர்களா என்று தந்தை ஓநாய் அவளிடம் கேட்டபோது, அவள் அதை தன் குட்டிகளுடன் வைத்திருப்பதாகக் கூறினாள். ஷேர் கான் அவரை வெளியே விட்டிருந்தால் கொன்றிருப்பார். அவள் அவனுக்கு 'மௌக்லி' என்ற குட்டித் தவளை என்று பெயரிட்டாள், மேலும் ஷேர் கானை வேட்டையாடியதைப் போல அவனும் வேட்டையாட வேண்டும் என்று சொன்னாள்.

Section I

The Jungle Book was written by Rudyard Kipling. The children enjoy the story as they deal with the boy's adolescence among the wild animals in the forest. The characters in this story are father wolf, mother wolf, tobacco (fox), sher khan (tiger), man's cub (Mowgli), wolf cubs and narrator.

The scene begins in the Seoni Hills. It was seven o'clock in the evening. There are no stars in the sky. The forest was surrounded by darkness. Father Wolf got up from his day's rest and prepared for the hunt. The mother wolf dropped her four cubs at the mouth of the cave, where they all live. Father Wolf moves downhill, where he meets the fox gun. He told Father Wolf and Mother Wolf that Sher Khan had changed his hunting ground.

So he told Tabaki that he would hunt in the middle of those mountains for the next moon. Sher Khan is a tiger that lives near the Waingunga River, about twenty miles from Mount Zion. Father Wolf became angry and said he had no right to come there and change his residence with due caution. Mother Wolf told them that Sher Khan had a leg disability from birth and that his mother called him Lungiri (Lamd One). The villagers of Vaingunga were angry with him and he had come there to anger their villagers. She told him to set fire to Sher Khan and run away. When the fox heard this, he said that he heard the sound of Sher Khan in the forest below and moved on.

Section II

Father Wolf heard the dry, angry howl of a tiger that liked nothing. Father Wolf called Sher Khan stupid to start a night job with that noise. The mother wolf told him that Sher Khan wanted to hunt a man and not any other beast. Sher Khan's whine turned into a kind of humming burr as it came from every quarter of the compass. That noise frightened everyone in the forest.

Section III

The law of the forest does not command anything without reason, forbidding every animal to eat man, except to kill it to show his children how to kill his herd or to hunt outside the abode of the tribe. Burr grew louder and heard an unhealthy scream from Sher Khan. He screamed as he accidentally jumped into the fire of the woodshed and burned his legs. The bushes in the forest were a little bustling, so Father Wolf was ready for his jump. When he saw a man's cub, he stopped jumping on it. This naked child smiled at his father's wolf's face.

The baby pushed between the cubs close to the warm skin. The mother wolf was delighted with the man's cub. Sher Khan came to the entrance and asked the child. The mouth of the cave was so narrow that the tiger could not go inside it. Mother Wolf bravely confronted Sher Khan. She said the man's cub belonged to her. He lives with them and eventually hunts down Sher Khan. The father wolf was amazed at the courage of the mother wolf. Sher Khan retreated from the cave and insisted that the Man Club belonged to him.

Section IV

The mother wolf sighed and threw herself between the cubs, and when the father wolf asked her if she wanted to keep the deer-cub, she said she had it with her cubs. Sher Khan would have killed him if he had left. She named him the little frog 'Mowgli' and told him he should hunt just like Sher Khan did.
