जब पत्तियाँ अपनी शाखाओं से नीचे आती हैं, तो वे (पत्तियाँ) जमीन को ढँक देती हैं। सभी पेड़ बर्फ से ढके हुए हैं और यह बहुत ही खूबसूरत नजारा है। कवि कहना चाहता है कि इस ऋतु में वृक्षों की सभी शाखाएँ पत्ती रहित हो जाती हैं। अद्भुत पक्षी कोकिला इस मौसम को देखकर गूंगी हो जाती है। वह अपने हाथों से कुछ करना चाहता है लेकिन अलग-अलग घुटनों पर वह जम जाता है, अकेला हो जाता है।
