'मेरी दादी का घर' कविता 'कमला दास' की एक अद्भुत रचना है। उसने दादी के घर के बारे में लिखा है। वह भी उस घर में अपनी दादी के साथ रहती थी। जब वह घर में छोटी थी तो बहुत खूबसूरत थी। उसकी दादी का घर भी बहुत अच्छा और आरामदायक था। वहाँ उसने और उसकी दादी ने बहुत ही सुखी जीवन व्यतीत किया।

उसी घर के आसपास सब कुछ अच्छा था। लेकिन जब उसकी दादी की मृत्यु हो गई और वक्ता दूसरी जगह रहने लगा, तो घर की हालत खराब हो गई। हर जगह वह घर दयनीय स्थिति में हो गया। जब स्पीकर वहां घर देखने गए तो चारों ओर झाड़ियां उग आईं। जब वह वहां पहुंची तो उनका जोरदार स्वागत किया गया। उसने अपने घर को क्षतिग्रस्त देखा। एक मजबूत भावना ने उसके दिमाग को पकड़ लिया। जब वह वहां गई तो सब कुछ बदल गया था लेकिन फिर भी उसे गर्व था क्योंकि जब वह वहां पहुंची तो उसका गर्मजोशी से स्वागत किया गया जो उसे अजनबी के दरवाजे पर मिली।

इस कविता में वक्ता कमला दास ने अपनी आत्मकथा में बताया है कि जब वह बहुत छोटी थीं तो कैसे रहती थीं।

When she went there everything changed but still she was proud because when she got there she was given the warm welcome she got at the stranger's door.

In this poem, speaker Kamala Das has told in her autobiography how she lived when she was very young.
