Walt Whitman loves the company of animals. The poet wants to live among animals because in his opinion animals are calm and self-reliant. They don’t cry and cry about their situation. They are always satisfied and do their duty to God. Animals always express love and respect for humans. Animals live a life of contentment and peace. They don't care about things. They do not show respect for others. Also, they do not respect their thousands of older descendants. Sorrow and happiness are the same for them.

He observes that animals do not possess the qualities of love, peace, kindness, selflessness, honesty, patience, compassion, and so on. These qualities are essential for a bright life.

The poet has a strong desire to learn from animals because those animals express deep concern for them. They do not have any kind of hypocrisy. The poet is amazed at their quality. Even if he leaves them carelessly, he wants to get it. He thinks that man's life is full of stress, depression, anxiety, sadness. Therefore, he wants to avoid living with other humans. He wants to be good with animals because he thinks he will find true happiness in animals. After all, he wants to have a relationship with animals. This was the essence of the poem 'Animals' written by Walt Whitman.
