In Gandhi Maidan, Patna, three huge effigies of Ravana, Kumbhakaran and Meghnad are made to be burnt by Lord Rama. The makers of these effigies are Jamaluddin and his son Panni Lal. Jamaluddin has been doing this work for four decades. It is a symbol of Hindu-Muslim unity.

On the occasion of Vijayadashami, a huge crowd gathers in Gandhi Maidan. On a platform, Lord Rama has to come to shoot three effigies with arrows. A colorful procession begins from Naga Baba Thakurbari at Kadam Kuan (Patna). The procession takes the chariots of Lord Rama, Lakshmana and Hanuman with its Vanari army to Gandhi Maidan.

Lord Rama shoots arrows and three effigies are burnt in the fire. The sound of rescue is emitted from the detonation of explosives placed in them. People of all classes-VVIPs and commoners enjoy the epic battle that tells that good triumphs over evil. The celebrations have become an annual feature of Patna.

विजयदशमी के मौके पर गांधी मैदान में भारी भीड़ उमड़ती है. एक मंच पर, भगवान राम को तीन पुतलों को मारने के लिए तीर चलाने के लिए आना पड़ता है। कदम कुआं (पटना) में नागा बाबा ठाकुरबाड़ी से रंगारंग जुलूस शुरू होता है। जुलूस अपनी वानरी सेना के साथ भगवान राम, लक्ष्मण और हनुमान के रथों को लेकर गांधी मैदान तक जाता है।

भगवान राम तीर चलाते हैं और तीन पुतलों को आग में जला दिया जाता है। उनमें रखे गए विस्फोटक फटने से बचाव की आवाज निकलती है। सभी वर्ग-वी.वी.आईपीएस और आम लोगों के लोग उस महाकाव्य लड़ाई का आनंद लेते हैं जो बताती है कि अच्छाई बुराई पर विजय प्राप्त करती है। समारोह पटना की वार्षिक विशेषता बन गया है।
