'B. Wordsworth' is a sensitive story of a man who aspires to become a poet. The location is Miguel Street, Trinidad in the Caribbean Islands. A young boy, in first-person narration, tells the story. One day a stranger comes to his house to see the bees in his premises. The man's fluent English astonishes him and his mother. The mother tells the boy to keep an eye on her, and together they watch the bees for an hour. The man says that he can watch ants and all other insects for hours. He also tells the boy that he is a poet, the greatest in the world. His name is B. Wordsworth, Bee is for Black; and he has a brother, W. Wordsworth; W for white. He tries to sell a poem to the boy but the boy's mother tells him to remove his tail. He says that no one buys his poetry but he keeps wandering to meet other poets and look for things to write more poetry. He encourages the boy saying that he has the quality of a poet. About a week later, they are invited to the poet's house and served with mangoes. The mother beats up the boy when he is away from home and he runs away from home. He goes to the poet crying from his heart. Thus begins friendship, which proves to be instructive for the child. He learns to observe the things of nature. He learns about the stars and constellations. He also receives poetic sensibilities.

One day, the boy asks why the poet keeps shrubs in his garden and he tells him a touching story of a young man and his wife, who were in love with poetry, grass and flowers. But she dies and after that the young man decides not to touch anything in the garden. He also tells her that he is writing a poem, which will be published after twenty-two years. This will be the greatest poem ever written. Man gets sick very quickly. The boy cries knowing that his friend is about to die. Before he dies the man tells him that the story, as well as the claim to write the poem, are false. He told the boy never to return to his place.

A year later the boy moved to the street where the poet lived; There was no address of his house. It was replaced by a two-storey building, and bricks and concrete were everywhere as if the poet did not exist.
