‘उन्के मुंके टिंपेटू’ ही कथा रोहन या तरुण मुलाभोवती फिरते, ज्याचा वाढदिवस आहे. रोहनचा वाढदिवस जवळ आला होता. त्याला टेबल टेनिसचा सेट हवा होता, जो त्याच्या पालकांना परवडणार नाही हे त्याला माहीत होते. त्याने आपली इच्छा त्याच्या जिवलग मित्र मुकला सांगितली, जो त्याला सांगतो की जर त्याला सेटची खरोखर इच्छा असेल तर त्याला मध्यरात्री ‘उन्के मुंके टिंपेटू’ म्हणत एका वटवृक्षाभोवती सतरा वेळा जावे लागेल. सुरवातीला तो घाबरला पण त्याच्या माजी प्राचार्या श्रीमती ग्रोवर यांच्या एकमेव वटवृक्षाभोवती नशीब आजमावण्याचा निर्णय घेतला.

त्याच्या वाढदिवसाच्या एक दिवस आधी तो त्याच्या मित्रासह वटवृक्षाकडे जातो. मिसेस ग्रोवर बाहेर आल्यावर रोहनने आपला राउंड जवळजवळ पूर्ण केला आणि रोहन तिला समजावून सांगतो की तो काय करत होता आणि का. दुसर्‍या दिवशी त्याच्या वाढदिवसाच्या भेटवस्तूंसोबत, त्याला इच्छा असलेली भेटवस्तू मिळते. फक्त ते अगदी नवीन नव्हते. त्याची अजिबात हरकत नव्हती. टेबल टेनिसचा सेट त्याला कोणी पाठवला असेल याचे त्याला आश्चर्य वाटते. तो मिसेस ग्रोवरला विचारायचे ठरवतो पण हिंमत होत नाही. त्यानंतर त्याने विचारले की तिचा ‘उन्के मुंके टिंपेटू’ या गाण्यावर विश्वास आहे का, ज्यावर तिने हो म्हटले. रोहन, मुक आणि मिसेस ग्रोवर चांगले मित्र बनले.

The story revolves around a young boy named Rohan, whose birthday is Unke Munke Timpetu. Rohan's birthday was approaching. He wanted a set of table tennis, which he knew his parents could not afford. He expressed his wish to his close friend Muk, who told him that if he really wanted the set, he would have to go around a banyan tree seventeen times in the middle of the night saying 'Unke Munke Timpetu'. At first he was scared but decided to try his luck around the lone banyan tree of his former principal Mrs. Grover.

The day before his birthday, he goes to the banyan tree with his friend. When Mrs. Grover comes out, Rohan almost completes his round and Rohan explains to her what he was doing and why. The next day, along with his birthday present, he gets the gift he wants. Only it was not brand new. He didn't mind. He wonders who sent him the table tennis set. He decides to ask Mrs. Grover but does not dare. He then asked if she believed in the song 'Unke Munke Timpetu', to which she said yes. Rohan, Muk and Mrs. Grover became good friends.
