कवितेचा निवेदक, द ब्रूक, आपल्याला त्याच्या मार्गावर घेऊन जातो. हे वर्णन करते की पक्ष्यांनी भेट दिलेल्या ठिकाणांपासून याची सुरुवात होते. दरीत उतरताना आवाज येतो. सूर्यप्रकाशामुळे नदीचे पाणी चमकते कारण ते फर्नमधून आणि अनेक गावांमधून वाहते. शेवटी ती फिलिपच्या शेतातून जाते आणि भरून वाहणाऱ्या नदीला मिळते. अडथळ्याभोवती फिरत असताना ते खूप फुगे आणि आवाज निर्माण करते.

नदीचे म्हणणे आहे की ते बरीच वळणे घेते आणि वक्रांनी भरलेला मार्ग काढतो. अनेक चढ-उतार पार करत नाला आपल्या वाटेवर बहर घेऊन जातो. त्याच्यासोबत अनेक मासे येतात. वेगवेगळ्या वक्रांमधून जाताना, नाला एकमेकांशी भिडतो आणि चांदीचे पाणी तुटते. नाल्याच्या पायथ्याशी सोनेरी रंगाचे दगड आहेत. नाल्याच्या वाहत्या पाण्यावर सूर्यप्रकाशाचे प्रतिबिंब पडल्याने सूर्यकिरण नाचत असल्याचा भास होतो. रात्री चंद्र आणि ताऱ्यांखाली काटेरी झुडपांतून कुरकुर करते. अडथळे टाळून शेवटी नदीत वाहून जाते.

परिचय:

लॉर्ड टेनिसन किंवा अल्फ्रेड लॉर्ड टेनिसन यांची ‘द ब्रूक’ ही कविता नदीच्या उत्पत्तीपासून त्याच्या तोंडापर्यंतचा प्रवास दर्शवते. अगदी साधीसुधी असली तरी ही कविता अतिशय तरलपणे खूप खोलवरचा संदेश देते. ‘पण मी कायमचा जातो’ या कवितेतील परावृत्त आपल्याला सांगते की निसर्ग शाश्वत आहे तर आपण क्षणिक किंवा अल्पायुषी आहोत. आपण येऊ आणि जाऊ शकतो पण निसर्ग कायम राहतो.

It makes a lot of bubbles and noises when moving around an obstacle.

The river says it takes a lot of turns and makes a curved path. Nala crosses many ups and downs and takes a spring on its way. Many fish come with it. Going through different curves, the nala collides with each other and the silver water breaks. There are golden stones at the base of the nallah. The reflection of sunlight on the flowing water of the nala makes the sun rays dance. At night, under the moon and stars, thorns growl through the bushes. It avoids obstacles and eventually flows into the river.

Introduction:

The poem 'The Brook' by Lord Tennyson or Alfred Lord Tennyson depicts the journey from the source of the river to its mouth. Although very simple, this poem conveys a very deep message very fluently. The parable in the poem ‘But I go forever’ tells us that while nature is eternal, we are fleeting or short-lived. We can come and go but nature remains.
