1. अरुणाचल प्रदेश: अरुणाचल प्रदेशला ‘उगवत्या सूर्याची भूमी’ म्हणूनही ओळखले जाते. हे प्राणी आणि वनस्पतींनी समृद्ध आहे. ते 'मोमोज' नावाच्या स्वादिष्ट पदार्थासाठी आणि 400 वर्ष जुन्या बौद्ध मठासाठी प्रसिद्ध आहे. हे भारतातील पहिले ऑर्किड अभयारण्य आहे.

2. आसाम: आसामला ‘अहोम’ म्हणूनही ओळखले जाते. काझीरंगा राष्ट्रीय उद्यान आणि मानस राष्ट्रीय उद्यान ही जागतिक वारसा स्थळे आहेत. आसाम चहाच्या मळ्यासाठी ओळखला जातो. आसाममधील रेशमी कापड ‘एरी’, ‘मुगा’ आणि ‘पॅट’ जगभरात प्रसिद्ध आहेत. त्याचा प्रमुख सण बिहू आहे आणि त्यात अनेक सुंदर अहोम राजवाडे आहेत.

3. मेघालय: मेघालयाला ‘पूर्वेचे स्कॉटलंड’ असेही म्हणतात. तेथे इंग्रजी, खासी, प्नार आणि गारो या भाषा बोलल्या जातात. कोळसा, चुनखडी, युरेनियम आणि सिलिमॅनाइट यांसारख्या खनिजांनी ते समृद्ध आहे. चेरापुंजी/मौसिनराम, पृथ्वीवरील सर्वात आर्द्र ठिकाणे येथे आहेत. यामध्ये सर्वात लांब गुहेला क्रेम लिआट प्राह म्हणतात आणि सर्वात खोल गुहेला सिनरंग पामियांग म्हणतात.

4. मणिपूर: मणिपूरला ‘कंगलेपाक’ किंवा ‘सनालेबक’ म्हणूनही ओळखले जाते. येथील बरेच लोक मीतेई/मणिपुरी भाषा बोलतात. यात केबुल लामजाओ नॅशनल पार्क आहे ज्यामध्ये भुकेच्या मृगांच्या लुप्तप्राय प्रजातींचा समावेश आहे. इकोसिस्टममध्ये सस्तन प्राण्यांच्या 17 दुर्मिळ प्रजाती आहेत आणि हे जगातील एकमेव तरंगते राष्ट्रीय उद्यान आहे. मणिपूरच्या मार्शल आर्ट्स, ‘थांग ता’ आणि ‘सरित सातक’ हे साक्षीदार आहेत.

५. नागालँड: नागालँडला ‘पूर्वेचे स्वित्झर्लंड’ असेही म्हणतात. कोहिमा ही मुख्यतः पर्वतीय राज्याची राजधानी आहे. सरामती पर्वत हे नागालँड आणि बर्मा दरम्यान नैसर्गिक अडथळा असलेले 3,840 मीटर उंचीचे सर्वोच्च शिखर आहे. याला ‘फाल्कन कॅपिटल ऑफ द वर्ल्ड’ म्हणूनही ओळखले जाते, जिथे महान भारतीय हॉर्नबिल देखील आढळते.

6. मिझोरम: मिझोरमला ‘कुकी’ म्हणूनही ओळखले जाते. त्याची राजधानी आयझॉल आहे. पलक सरोवर हे मिझोराममधील सर्वात मोठे आहे आणि 30 हेक्टर क्षेत्र व्यापते. चंफईला मिझोरामची ‘फळाची वाटी’ म्हणतात. येथे 6 वन्यजीव अभयारण्ये आणि 2 राष्ट्रीय उद्याने आहेत, ज्यामध्ये 'मिझो' ही सर्वात जास्त वापरली जाणारी भाषा आहे.

7. त्रिपुरा: त्रिपुराचा अर्थ '3 शहरे' आणि 'पाण्याजवळ' असाही होतो. त्रिपुरामध्ये 3 भिन्न भौगोलिक क्षेत्रे आहेत. गुमती, मुहुरी आणि फेणी या येथील प्रमुख नद्या आहेत. आगरतळा ही त्रिपुराची राजधानी आहे. हे इको-टूरिझम आणि पुरातत्व पर्यटनासाठी प्रसिद्ध आहे. येथे, गरिया, दुर्गा पूजा, बुद्ध पौर्णिमा, खर्ची, पौष संक्रांती, बिजू किंवा ख्रिसमस यांसारख्या सणांमध्ये सर्व राज्यांतील लोक सहभागी होतात.

1. Arunachal Pradesh: Arunachal Pradesh is also known as the 'Land of the Rising Sun'. It is rich in animals and plants. It is famous for its delicious 'Momoz' and its 400 year old Buddhist monastery. It is the first orchid sanctuary in India.

2. Assam: Assam is also known as 'Ahom'. Kaziranga National Park and Manas National Park are World Heritage Sites. Assam is known for its tea plantations. The silk fabrics 'Eri', 'Muga' and 'Pat' from Assam are famous all over the world. Its main festival is Bihu and it has many beautiful Ahom palaces.

3. Meghalaya: Meghalaya is also known as 'Scotland of the East'. English, Khasi, Pnar and Garo languages are spoken there. It is rich in minerals like coal, limestone, uranium and sillimanite. Cherrapunji / Mausinram, the wettest places on earth. The longest cave in it is called Krem Liat Prah and the deepest cave is called Sinrang Pamiyang.

4. Manipur: Manipur is also known as 'Kanglepak' or 'Sanalebak'. Most of the people here speak Meetei / Manipuri language. It is the Cable Lamjao National Park, home to endangered species of hungry deer. The ecosystem contains 17 rare species of mammals and is the only floating national park in the world. Manipur Martial Arts, ‘Thang Ta’ and ‘Sarit Satak’ are witnesses.

5. Nagaland: Nagaland is also known as the 'Switzerland of the East'. Kohima is the capital of a predominantly mountainous state. Mount Saramati is the highest peak of 3,840 meters with a natural barrier between Nagaland and Burma. It is also known as the Falcon Capital of the World, where the great Indian hornbill is also found.

6. Mizoram: Mizoram is also known as 'Cookie'. Its capital is Aizawl. Lake Palak is the largest in Mizoram and covers an area of 30 hectares. Champhai is called the 'Fruit Bowl' of Mizoram. There are 6 wildlife sanctuaries and 2 national parks, with Mizo being the most widely used language.

7. Tripura: Tripura also means '3 cities' and 'near water'. Tripura has 3 different geographical areas. The major rivers are Gumti, Muhuri and Feni. Agartala is the capital of Tripura. It is famous for eco-tourism and archeological tourism. Here, people from all states participate in festivals like Gariya, Durga Puja, Buddha Pournima, Kharchi, Poush Sankranti, Biju or Christmas.
