मिस बीम जैसे कि मेरी अपेक्षा थी, मध्यम आयु की, दबदबा रखने वाली, दयालु और समझदार महिला थी। उनके बाल भूरे होना शुरू हो रहे थे, और उनकी गोलाकार आकृति किसी घर के प्रति अत्यन्त लगाव रखने वाले बालक के प्रति ममतामयी सकून देने वाली थी।

“क्या मैं तुम्हें कहीं और ले चलूँ?” मैंने पूछा।
