एक छोटी सी मकड़ी गुफा की छत पर जाला बुनने की कोशिश कर रही थी। मकड़ी के रेंगते ही जाले का एक धागा टूट गया और मकड़ी नीचे गिर गई। लेकिन मकड़ी ने हार नहीं मानी। उसने बार-बार चढ़ने की कोशिश की। अंत में, मकड़ी सफलतापूर्वक ऊपर चढ़ गई और वेब को पूरा किया।

विक्रम सोचने लगा, 'अगर एक छोटी मकड़ी इतनी बहादुरी से असफलता का सामना कर सकती है, तो मैं क्यों हार मानूं? मैं जीत तक पूरी ताकत से कोशिश करूंगा'। इस विचार ने पराजित राजा को शक्ति प्रदान की।
