Damon and Pythias were friends and lovers of Truth. They lived in Syracuse, ruled by King Dionysius. The king was the meter of the evil mind. The king was enraged to hear that Pythias had called him cruel. For this he had to be hanged.

Pythias' last wish was to meet his mother, arrange for his sister's marriage, but the king did not leave her. Damon accepts to remain in prison until Pythias returns. The king gave him some time to fulfill his responsibilities. If Pythias does not return, Damon will die.

 

Pythias faced many dangers while returning and was therefore delayed. So Damon was killed. The king made fun of Pythias but Damon was quite sure that Pythias would return. Damon was happy to die for Pythias. At the last moment Pythias came running, gasping for breath, hugging Damon and crying. He asked the guard to punish him. Seeing this the king was very impressed by their loyalty and freed both of them.

डेमन और पाइथियास सत्य के मित्र और प्रेमी थे। वे राजा डायोनिसियस द्वारा शासित सिरैक्यूज़ में रहते थे। राजा दुष्ट मन का मीटर था। राजा को यह सुनकर क्रोध आ गया कि पाइथियास ने उसे क्रूर कहा है। इसके लिए उन्हें फांसी दी जानी थी।

पाइथियास की आखिरी इच्छा अपनी मां से मिलने, अपनी बहन की शादी की व्यवस्था करने की थी लेकिन राजा ने उसे नहीं छोड़ा। पाइथियास के वापस आने तक डेमन ने जेल में रहना स्वीकार किया। राजा ने उसे अपने उत्तरदायित्वों को पूरा करने के लिए कुछ समय दिया। यदि पाइथियास वापस नहीं लौटा, तो डेमन मर जाएगा।

 

पाइथियास को लौटते समय कई खतरों का सामना करना पड़ा और इसलिए उसे देरी हुई। इसलिए डेमन को मार डाला गया। राजा ने पाइथियास का मज़ाक उड़ाया लेकिन डेमन को पूरा यकीन था कि पाइथियास वापस आ जाएगा। पाइथियास के लिए मरने के लिए डेमन खुश था। अंतिम क्षण में पाइथियास दौड़ता हुआ आया, सांस के लिए हांफते हुए उसने डेमन को गले लगाया और रोया। उसने गार्ड से उसे सजा देने के लिए कहा। यह देखकर राजा उनकी निष्ठा से बहुत प्रभावित हुए और उन दोनों को मुक्त कर दिया।
