'क्रिस्टीना रोसेटी' की कविता 'द स्काईलार्क'। उन्होंने प्रकृति का बहुत ही जीवंत वर्णन किया है! वह एक धूप वाली सुबह को याद करती है जब उसने सुना और देखा कि एक स्काईलार्क हरी धरती के ऊपर और नीले आकाश के नीचे (उड़ते हुए) मँडरा रहा है। उसे ऐसा लग रहा था कि स्काईलार्क हरी धरती और नीले आकाश के बीच लटक रहा है।

स्काईलार्क उसे 'सिंगिंग स्पेक' की तरह दिखाई दिया, जो खेतों में उगने वाले कॉम पौधों के ऊपर है, हरी धरती उसे एक मंच की तरह दिखाई देती है जैसे कि लड़के (उज्ज्वल) रंगों में सजाया जाता है। कवि ने तितलियों को देखा, जो उनके पंखों पर नाचती दिख रही थीं।

स्काईलार्क आकाश में ऊंचा उठ गया, गा रहा था, और चुपचाप पृथ्वी पर डूब गया और फिर एक सुखद धुन गाते हुए फिर से आकाश में उठ गया। कवि कोमल हरे कॉम क्षेत्रों के साथ चल रहा था, और वह मानती थी कि स्काइलार्क का एक घोंसला था, जो कॉम फसल के लाखों डंठल के बीच कहीं छिपा हुआ था।

स्काईलार्क को गाते हुए सुनने के लिए कवि ने चलना बंद कर दिया। वह स्किललार्क में इतनी लीन थी कि समय तेजी से फिसल गया, और सूरज ढलने लगा, यानी शाम हो चुकी थी। इसलिए उसने घर वापस जाने का फैसला किया। वह यह सोचकर घर वापस चली जाती है कि क्या स्काईलार्क का साथी उसके गाने को सुनने में उसकी तुलना में अधिक समय तक सुन रहा होगा।
