यह दावा करता है कि यह पूरे दिन इस तरह का व्यायाम करता है। कवि अपमानित महसूस करता है और अपने आप को परिभाषित करते हुए घड़ी के ठीक सामने कहता है कि वह घड़ी की तरह घमंड नहीं करेगा और उसकी तरह वह अपनी बाहों को भी घुमा सकता है। इसलिए घड़ी और कवि दोनों एक दूसरे को बहुत देर तक देखते हैं। अब घड़ी और कवि दोनों ही सुबह जल्दी उठते हैं और बस व्यायाम और व्यायाम करते हैं। यह कविता इस बात पर जोर देती है कि स्वस्थ, बुद्धिमान और मजबूत रहने के लिए मनुष्य को घड़ी की तरह हमेशा सक्रिय और मेहनती रहना चाहिए।
