The poet has given the title of "Queen of the Himalayas" to the snow-capped "Kangchenjunga".

हिमालय पर्वतमाला में विश्व की तीसरी सबसे ऊँची चोटी कंचनजंगा यहाँ के एक विदेशी कवि के अनुपम सौन्दर्य को चित्रित करने का एक प्रशंसनीय प्रयास है। रचना में क्रिस्टीना अल्बर्स ने ऐसा किया है। 'कंचनजंगा' के शिखर पर सूर्योदय के नज़ारे से अभिभूत इस कवयित्री ने पूरी काव्य तत्परता से काव्य रचना की है। कवि ने बर्फ से ढकी "कंचनजंगा" को "हिमालय की रानी" की उपाधि दी है।

सफेद कपड़े पहने यह "रानी" सुनहरी रोशनी में नहाने की कल्पना कर रही है। सूर्य जब इस पर्वत शिखर पर अपने प्रेम के शाश्वत फव्वारे की पहली किरण भेजता है, तो पर्वत की चोटियों से आने वाली गहरी आवाजें कवयित्री के हृदय को रोमांचित कर देती हैं। इस प्रकार इस अछंद काव्य में कवयित्री ने सूर्योदय के हिम शिखर की अद्भुत कल्पना की रचना की है।
