Easwaran's story was narrated by Mahendra to Ganesh, who worked as a junior supervisor at various construction sites. Mahendra being unmarried was able to live in temporary shelters provided by the construction company. Easwaran used to accompany Mahendra wherever he went. He was an advantage to her as he would accompany her, cook for her and even wash her clothes.

Mahendra says that Easwaran collects everything needed to prepare the food in no time. Every morning Mahendra would get ready, had breakfast, took lunch with him and went to his work. Meanwhile, Easwaran would clean the living room, wash clothes, bathe, eat lunch, read his favorite Tamil story book and take naps. In the evening, Easwaran used to entertain Mahendra with his stories.

He had an art of storytelling as he used the modulation of his body gestures, facial expressions and voice to bring his characters to life. Even though the stories seemed untrue, Easwaran narrated them in such a unique way that Mahendra listened to them eagerly. Easwaran will start a story with an introduction, he will put the background of the character, followed by the story.

He described a simple event in such detail, as well as described actions that create mystery in the mind of the listener. Once he narrated to Mahendra the story of an elephant that had escaped from the forest and entered the city. The animal reached Easwaran's school. As it destroyed school property, all the students locked themselves in the classroom. At that time Easwaran was studying in a junior class.

He was watching the incident from the terrace. He took a stick from the teacher and came down to the ground. He went towards the elephant as he threatened to attack her. Ishwaran was not afraid of this. He gathered all his strength and quickly hit the elephant on its toe. The elephant was stunned by this attack, he fell unconscious on the ground. He didn't finish the story and said that he was late for dinner.

He went to eat but Mahendra was curious to know what happened next. As Easwaran did not continue the story, Mahendra had to remind him that the end was pending. Easwaran then said that the vet has been called. He brought the elephant back to consciousness and after two days a mahout was called who took the elephant back to the forest. Mahendra asked Easwaran how he managed to overcome the huge animal.

Easwaran replied that he used techniques from a Japanese martial art that was either karate or jujitsu. He had read about it somewhere, that martial arts are capable of making a person unconscious by paralyzing the nervous system. Easwaran used to tell some story every day that was entertaining to him and made up for the absence of television in his living quarters. One morning Easwaran asked permission to cook a special dinner as it was the day he cooked food for the dead elders of the family.

That evening Mahendra enjoyed a delicious meal and congratulated Easwaran for his cooking skills. As Mahendra was resting after the meal, Easwaran began to tell a story related to ghosts and supernatural forces, to his dislike. He said the factory area where he lived was formerly a cemetery. On the very first day he saw a human skull lying beside him. He said that he was not afraid of ghosts and saw many bones and skulls.

On a full moon night, he saw an ugly ghost of a woman, whose face was shrunken, tangled in hair and holding an unborn child. Mahendra was restless and scolded Easwaran for talking nonsense. He said there were no ghosts and ordered him to investigate himself as he thought he had gone mad. From that day onwards, Mahendra started feeling restless and peeped out the window so that there were no ghosts around.

One night when Mahendra woke up, he heard someone crying. At first he thought it was a cat looking for rats. As the sound became more harsh and deeper, Mahendra could not ignore it and succumbed to the urge to look out the window. As he looked out, he saw white moonlight and a dark shadow holding a bundle in his arms. When he saw the ghost, he started sweating, breathing, and he fell back on the bed. After some time Mahindra thought that maybe his subconscious mind was playing some tricks with him and there is no ghost in reality.

He got ready the next morning and had forgotten the incident of the previous night. Easwaran greets him and gives him his lunch bag. He said that a few days ago, Mahendra had scolded him for discussing the ghost, but last night he saw it himself. Easwaran had heard Mahendra crying in the night. It was confirmed that Mahendra had seen the ghost the previous night and it was not a trick of his mind. Once again Mahendra panicked, he left in haste and resigned from the job. He could not stay at a haunted place for a day.
