'Every one song' by the great war poet of the 20th century, S. A song composed by Sassoon. The poet was engaged in war activities so he had seen the horrors of war. In November 1918 the Germans were defeated and called for an armistice. When the news of the ceasefire came, it was a day of great joy and happiness. This poem is an expression of joy for freedom. The war was fought for independence and the defeat of Germany was certain, so the poet was very happy that the mission of fighting the war was to be accomplished, other soldiers who were away from their families were to be free and now they could see their relatives. So the news of the ceasefire brought him great joy.

The poet compares soldiers to a bird that is freed from its cage. As the bird is released from its cage, it goes on flying in the open sky. It flies until it becomes our sight in the vast blue sky. Similarly the soldier is freed from the barracks and the French and he is overjoyed to hear that the war is over. He begins to sing a song which symbolizes his joy for freedom.

In the second verse the poet moves from 'happiness' to 'beauty', the horrors of war disappearing and wherever it is beautiful. The poet thinks of the beauty that 'comes from the setting yoga and he cries almost with joy' 'my heart trembled with tears'. The joy and their beauty emanating from the clouds of war is much deeper and more lasting than the joy of the birds being released from their cages.

These landlords are full of intense joy and they cannot express their happiness in words. It is an enduring joy because a ceasefire will bring lasting peace to the world. Although the feeling of joy was expressed on the armistice day we can find poetry to express the feelings of the day and freedom in general.

दूसरे छंद में कवि 'प्रसन्नता' से 'सौंदर्य' की ओर आता है, युद्ध की भयावहता गायब हो जाती है और जहाँ भी वह सुंदर होती है। कवि उस सुंदरता के बारे में सोचता है जो 'सेटिंग योग से आती है और वह लगभग खुशी से रोता है' 'मेरा दिल आँसुओं से कांप गया'। युद्ध के बादलों से निकलने वाला आनंद और उनका सौंदर्य पिंजरों से मुक्ति पाने वाले पक्षियों के आनंद से कहीं अधिक गहरा और स्थायी है।
