The author was longing to visit the Andaman CI. His father fulfilled his wish during the last summer vacations. After the examination was over, the writer's family took the Pinakini Express from Vijayawada on 25 April and reached Chennai Central by 1 pm. Later they reached the port. In the evening, they boarded a ship for Port Blair, the capital of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The writer and his sister Amalai on board the ship shook hands at the people encouraging the passengers. The author could not feel. Ship movement when cabin doors and windows are closed. When the ship was leaving, they saw dolphins swimming along the side of the ship. Dolphins jumped and dived repeatedly. If was too entertaining for the author. Afterwards, the author went around the ship to find out what the other people in the ship were doing. He saw some people eating and drinking in the restaurant. He was surprised to see some people in the salon getting their hair cut. Medical personnel were engaged in the treatment of patients suffering from sea diseases. The sweepers were doing their job. The crew of the ship gladly answered all the questions of the author about the ship.

Two days later they reached Port Blair. The author came to know that there are about six hundred islands between the coast of India and Myanmar. Only 37 of them were inhabited. The inhabitants were tribal tribes. Some of them lived far away from civilized society. Despite this, these islands today look like a miniature India. There are people of different languages, cultures and religions. Yet they all live happily together.

The writer's family visited the Cellular Jail built by the British. But now it is not a prison. It is now used as a large hospital. Thereafter, he visited Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park. There one can find open creeks running through the park area. There they saw coral reefs, fish of different colors and sea turtles through glass-bottomed boats.

He later traveled by a ferry from Port Blair to Havelock Island, where he saw a grand lighthouse. He saw tourists swimming in the sea and riding on elephants. He took a lot of pictures of beautiful scenery.

Thereafter, he visited Elephant Beach. He saw scubadiving in which swimmers dive into the sea on a motor boat and I stay under the sea for a long time. They swim with beautiful fish and sea turtles. Scuba diving filled the writer's heart with a sense of adventure.

Finally, he visited Radhanagar beach. There the writer and his sister Amala enjoyed an elephant ride. There he tasted tandoori fish and other seafood items. The author felt that he could never forget his visit to Andaman.

लेखक अंडमान की सीआई यात्रा करने के लिए तरस रहा था। उनके पिता ने पिछली गर्मियों की छुट्टियों में उनकी इच्छा पूरी की। परीक्षा समाप्त होने के बाद, लेखक का परिवार 25 अप्रैल को विजयवाड़ा से पिनाकिनी एक्सप्रेस ले गया और दोपहर 1 बजे तक चेन्नई सेंट्रल पहुंच गया। बाद में वे बंदरगाह पहुंचे। शाम को, वे अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह की राजधानी पोर्ट ब्लेयर के लिए एक जहाज पर सवार हुए। जहाज पर बैठे लेखक और उसकी बहन अमलाई ने यात्रियों का उत्साहवर्धन करने वाले लोगों की ओर हाथ हिलाया। लेखक महसूस नहीं कर सका। केबिन के दरवाजे और खिड़कियां बंद होने पर जहाज की आवाजाही। जब जहाज जा रहा था, तो उन्होंने डॉल्फिन को जहाज के किनारे तैरते हुए देखा। डॉल्फ़िन उछलकर बार-बार गोता लगाती थीं। अगर लेखक के लिए बहुत मनोरंजक था। बाद में, लेखक यह जानने के लिए जहाज के चारों ओर गया कि जहाज में अन्य लोग क्या कर रहे थे। उसने रेस्टोरेंट में कुछ लोगों को खाते-पीते देखा। सैलून में कुछ लोगों को बाल कटवाते देख वह हैरान रह गया। समुद्र रोग से पीड़ित मरीजों के इलाज में चिकित्सा कर्मी जुटे हुए थे. सफाई कर्मी अपना काम कर रहे थे। जहाज के चालक दल ने जहाज के बारे में लेखक के सभी प्रश्नों का सहर्ष उत्तर दिया।

दो दिन बाद वे पोर्ट ब्लेयर पहुंचे। लेखक को पता चला कि भारत के तट और म्यांमार के बीच लगभग छह सौ द्वीप हैं। उनमें से केवल 37 बसे हुए थे। निवासी आदिवासी जनजातियाँ थीं। उनमें से कुछ सभ्य समाज से बहुत दूर रहते थे। इसके बावजूद ये द्वीप आज एक लघु भारत की तरह दिखते हैं। विभिन्न भाषाओं, संस्कृतियों और धर्मों के लोग हैं। फिर भी वे सभी एक साथ खुशी-खुशी रहते हैं।

लेखक के परिवार ने अंग्रेजों द्वारा निर्मित सेलुलर जेल का दौरा किया। लेकिन अब यह जेल नहीं है। यह अब एक बड़े अस्पताल के रूप में उपयोग किया जाता है। इसके बाद, उन्होंने महात्मा गांधी मरीन नेशनल पार्क का दौरा किया। वहाँ पार्क क्षेत्र के माध्यम से चलने वाली खुली खाड़ियाँ मिल सकती हैं। वहां उन्होंने कांच के तले वाली नावों के माध्यम से प्रवाल भित्तियों, विभिन्न रंगों की मछलियों और समुद्री कछुओं को देखा।

बाद में उन्होंने पोर्ट ब्लेयर से हैवलॉक द्वीप तक एक नौका से यात्रा की, जहां उन्होंने एक भव्य प्रकाशस्तंभ देखा। उन्होंने पर्यटकों को समुद्र में तैरने और हाथियों पर सवार होते हुए देखा। उन्होंने सुंदर दृश्यों की बहुत सारी तस्वीरें लीं।

इसके बाद, उन्होंने हाथी समुद्र तट का दौरा किया। उन्होंने स्कूबाडाइविंग देखी जिसमें तैराक मोटर बोट से समुद्र में गोता लगाते हैं और मैं समुद्र के नीचे लंबे समय तक रहता हूं। वे सुंदर मछलियों और समुद्री कछुओं के साथ तैरते हैं। स्कूबा डाइविंग ने लेखक के दिल को रोमांच की भावना से भर दिया।

अंत में, उन्होंने राधानगर समुद्र तट का दौरा किया। वहाँ लेखक और उसकी बहन अमला ने हाथी की सवारी का आनन्द लिया। वहां उन्होंने तंदूरी मछली और अन्य समुद्री खाद्य पदार्थों का स्वाद चखा। लेखक को लगा कि वह अंडमान की अपनी यात्रा को कभी नहीं भूल सकता।
