खेत में गश्त करते समय, अंशुमन के पिता ने एक पेड़ में उगने वाले खरपतवार को देखा। वह अंशुमान को समझाते हैं कि कैसे ये खरपतवार खेत में पौधों के लिए हानिकारक हैं। वह उसे बताता है कि यदि खरपतवारों को सही समय पर नहीं हटाया गया, तो उनकी जड़ें मिट्टी में गहरी हो जाएंगी और पौधों को नष्ट कर देंगी।

शेतावर फेरफटका मारत असताना, अंशुमनचे वडील झाडांमध्ये वाढणाऱ्या तणांकडे लक्ष वेधतात. हे तण शेतातील झाडांना कसे हानिकारक आहेत हे तो अंशुमनला समजावून सांगतो. तो त्याला सांगतो की जर तण योग्य वेळी बाहेर काढले नाही तर त्याची मुळे जमिनीत खोलवर वाढतील आणि त्यामुळे झाडे नष्ट होतील.

तो तणांची तुलना वाईट सवयींशी करतो ज्यांची मुळे खोलवर वाढण्यापूर्वी आणि निरोगी रोपाचा नाश होण्यापूर्वी काढली पाहिजे. त्याचप्रमाणे जर आपण वाईट सवयी सोडल्या नाहीत तर कालांतराने स्वतःला सुधारणे किंवा बदलणे कठीण होईल आणि व्यक्तीचे चारित्र्य नष्ट होईल. अंशुमनला त्याची चूक कळते आणि तो बदललेला माणूस बनतो.
