इस कविता में कवि एक जैसे जुड़वां बच्चों की समस्याओं या कठिनाइयों के बारे में एक मजेदार चुटकुला सुनाता है।

जुड़वा बच्चों में से एक काव्य वक्ता है, जिसने जीवन भर अपनी समानताओं का वर्णन किया है।

वह बताते हैं कि वे दोनों अपने आत्मविश्वास से निपटते हैं क्योंकि वे अपनी खेल गतिविधियों को शुरू करना चुनते हैं। समान होना दूसरों के लिए दिलचस्प हो सकता है लेकिन वक्ता के लिए इतना सहज नहीं है। इस दौरान दोनों ने लोगों को गलत समझा। सभी रिश्तेदार असमंजस में थे कि वक्ता कौन है और अन्य जुड़वाँ बच्चे कौन हैं। इस भ्रम ने उन्हें जीवन भर ढोया और यह उनका भ्रम है कि हमारी समानता ...
उनके नामकरण समारोह के दौरान मामला और बढ़ गया। और नर्स ने दोनों को एक साथ रखा, शायद हमारी किस्मत से। या शायद यह उसके प्यार की वजह से था कि हम दोनों ने नामों का आदान-प्रदान किया और मुझे जो नाम मिला (जॉन) मेरे भाई को और उसका नाम मेरे भाई को दिया गया।

वक्ता आगे कहता है कि उसके (घातक) रूपक ने उसका पीछा स्कूल तक किया। और स्पीकर को अपने भाई की अशिष्टता और मूर्खता के लिए दंडित किया गया था। इस सब के बाद वक्ताओं ने नाराजगी जताते हुए सभी से अनुत्तरित सवाल पूछा कि अपनी पहचान साबित करने के लिए क्या किया जाए।
यह इस तथ्य के कारण हो सकता है कि जुड़वाँ और वक्ता को विवाहित होने के साथ-साथ विवाहित होने पर भी एक जैसे दिखना चाहिए। ये हास्यास्पद और मूर्खतापूर्ण गलतियाँ जीवन भर होती रहीं। क्या लोग जीवन के अंत में मर गए? और किसे दफनाना है? और जब वक्ता मर गया, तो उन्होंने यूहन्ना को मिट्टी दी।

इस कविता में कवि अतिशयोक्ति करता है जब वक्ता कहता है कि उसकी दुल्हन की शादी उसके भाई से हुई है। वास्तविक जीवन में जुड़वा बच्चों के साथ ऐसा नहीं है, क्योंकि लोग भ्रमित हो सकते हैं लेकिन अपरिपक्व नहीं। और न तो भाई और न ही बहन ऐसे काम करेंगे।
