विलियम डेविस द्वारा लिखित इज़ द कविता लीजर एक सुंदर संदेश देती है कि हम अपने जीवन में कितने व्यस्त हैं और हमारे पास अपने स्वभाव और परिवेश की सराहना करने के लिए समय नहीं है।

इस कविता में वह मनुष्य की आलोचना करते हैं कि हम एक मशीन की तरह हैं और अपने आस-पास की छोटी-छोटी चीजों पर ध्यान दिए बिना हर दिन दौड़ते हैं।

हम अपने जीवन में इतने व्यस्त हैं कि हरे पेड़, पानी के प्रतिबिंब जब सूरज चमकता है, गिलहरी सर्दियों की सुबह घास में अपना अनाज छुपाती है आदि।

• कवि सोचता है कि गाय और भेड़ भी अपने जीवन का आनंद ले रहे हैं क्योंकि वे जल्दी में नहीं हैं और प्रकृति के सरल लेकिन सुंदर रूप को नहीं खोते हैं। हमारे पास रात के तारों वाले आकाश को कुछ मिनटों के लिए देखने का भी समय नहीं है।

• कवि मानव जाति पर दया करता है क्योंकि समय समाप्त हो रहा है और हम भी हैं लेकिन हम अभी भी अपना जीवन जी रहे हैं, लेकिन इसका आनंद नहीं ले रहे हैं। हम प्रकृति के इस खूबसूरत पक्ष को एक युवा और खूबसूरत लड़की के रूप में खुशी से नाचते हुए देखने में असफल हो रहे हैं।

• इन छोटी-छोटी बातों ने कवि के मन को हमेशा तरोताजा और तरोताजा कर दिया है और उसके मन को शांति, आनंद और सकारात्मकता से भर दिया है। मशीन की तरह दौड़ने के बजाय हम सभी को इसकी तलाश करनी चाहिए।

• कवी मानवजातीची दया करतो कारण वेळ धावत आहे आणि आपणही आहोत पण तरीही आपण आपले जीवन जगत आहोत, परंतु त्याचा आनंद घेत नाही. निसर्गाची ही सुंदर बाजू पाहण्यात आपण अपयशी ठरत आहोत जिला तरुण आणि आनंदाने नाचणारी एक सुंदर मुलगी म्हणून साकारले आहे.
