'द टाइगर किंग' प्रतिबंदपुरम के महाराजा सर जिलानी जंग जंग बहादुर का वर्णन करता है। जब राजा सिर्फ 10 दिन का था, ज्योतिषियों ने भविष्यवाणी की थी कि उसे एक बाघ द्वारा मार दिया जाएगा। इस पर 10 दिन के राजकुमार ने सभी को चकित करते हुए कहा, 'बाघों को सावधान रहने दो!' बच्चा किसी अन्य शाही बच्चे की तरह बड़ा हुआ, एक सफेद गाय का दूध पीकर, एक अंग्रेजी नानी द्वारा उसकी देखभाल की जाती थी और अंग्रेजी फिल्में देखी जाती थी।

20 साल की उम्र में, उन्हें राजा का ताज पहनाया गया और उनकी मृत्यु से संबंधित भविष्यवाणी के बारे में पता चला। तभी से उसने बाघों को मारना शुरू कर दिया और राज्य में किसी अन्य व्यक्ति द्वारा बाघ के शिकार पर प्रतिबंध लगा दिया। ज्योतिषी के अनुसार उसे सौवें बाघ से सावधान रहने की जरूरत थी, भले ही उसने निन्यानबे बाघों को मार दिया हो।

'The Tiger King' describes Maharaja Sir Jilani Jung Jung Bahadur of Pratibandapuram. When the king was just 10 days old, astrologers predicted that he would be killed by a tiger. On this the 10-day-old prince surprised everyone and said, 'Let the tigers be careful!' The child grew up like any other royal child, milked a white cow, looked after by an English nanny and watched English movies.

At the age of 20, he was crowned king and learned of the prophecy concerning his death. Since then he started killing tigers and banned tiger hunting by any other person in the state. According to the astrologer he needed to beware of the hundredth tiger even though he had killed ninety-nine tigers.

Once a high-ranking British officer visited his kingdom and wanted to go for tiger hunting. But his wish was rejected and to secure his kingdom from the wrath of the British officer, the Maharaja sent 50 diamond rings worth Rs. 3 lakh to the wife of the officer.

The Maharaja killed seventy tigers in ten years and there were no tigers left in Pratibandapuram. To achieve his goal of killing a hundred tigers, the Maharaja decided to marry a girl from a royal kingdom who had more tigers to fulfill his goal. Whenever he went to his in-laws' house, he used to kill 5-6 tigers. In this way he could kill ninety-nine tigers but could not find the hundredth tiger. When the hundredth tiger was not found, the Maharaja became enraged and threatened the Diwan, who, in order to save himself, obtained an old tiger from the circus and kept it in the forest with great difficulty.

The Maharaja shot this tiger and felt happy and victorious. But, in reality the bullet did not hit the tiger. The tiger fell in fear. But none of the employees wanted to take the risk of telling the truth to the Maharaja. So they killed him and brought him in a grand procession.

In the end, Tiger King was happy and content. On his son's third birthday, he bought a wooden tiger as a gift for his son. It was so poorly carved that as Tiger King was playing with it, a small piece of wood pierced his right hand, which later developed an infection. He was operated upon and died during this time. Thus, ironically, the hundredth tiger, that is, the wooden tiger, took his revenge on the tiger king.
