ए.पी.जे. कलाम, भारत के महानतम वैज्ञानिकों में से एक, का जन्म 1931 में तमिलनाडु के रामेश्वरम के द्वीप शहर में एक मध्यमवर्गीय मुस्लिम परिवार में हुआ था। उनके तीन भाई और एक बहन थी।

उनके पिता एक बहुत ही उदार व्यक्ति थे और उनकी माँ एक मेहमाननवाज महिला थीं जो अपने परिवार के सदस्यों के साथ हर दिन कई बाहरी लोगों को खाना खिलाती थीं। हालांकि, लंबे और सुंदर माता-पिता के लिए पैदा हुए, कलाम एक कंधे वाला एक छोटा लड़का था, जो उसके बाएं हाथ के चारों ओर घूमता था। खतरे के सामने डॉक्टर बिल्कुल स्थिर हो गया। मौत आसन्न लग रही थी।

ऐसी स्थिति में केवल भगवान ही उसे बचा सकते थे। लेकिन वह एक भाग्यशाली व्यक्ति था। जैसे ही उसकी नजर बड़े शीशे पर पड़ी, सांप ने अपना सिर घुमा लिया। उसने आईने में देखा और अपना प्रतिबिंब देखा।

फिर वह डॉक्टर के हाथ से खुल गया और धीरे-धीरे उसकी गोद में जा गिरा। वहां से वह टेबल पर चढ़ गया और शीशे की ओर बढ़ गया। डॉक्टर को ऐसा लग रहा था जैसे जीव अपने प्रतिबिंब का नजदीक से आनंद लेना चाहता है।

इस प्रकार, हम देखते हैं कि कहानी साँप और दर्पण के इर्द-गिर्द घूमती है। इन दो चीजों के बिना कहानी कुछ भी नहीं है। अतः यह शीर्षक पूर्णतः उचित है।

A.P.J. Kalam, one of India's greatest scientists, was born in 1931 to a middle-class Muslim family in the island town of Rameswaram, Tamil Nadu. He had three brothers and one sister.

His father was a very generous person and his mother was a hospitable lady who along with her family members used to feed many outsiders every day. However, born to tall and handsome parents, Kalam was a small boy with one shoulder, which wrapped around his left arm. In the face of danger, the doctor became completely stable. Death seemed imminent.

In such a situation only God could save him. But he was a lucky man. The snake turned its head as soon as its eyes fell on the large mirror. He looked in the mirror and saw his reflection.

Then he opened from the doctor's hand and slowly fell in his lap. From there he climbed onto the table and headed towards the mirror. It seemed to the doctor as if the creature wanted to enjoy its reflection up close.

Thus, we see that the story revolves around the snake and the mirror. Without these two things the story is nothing. So this title is completely justified.
