घुसपैठिए के अलमारी में कदम रखते ही रिवॉल्वर जमीन पर गिर जाती है। फिर जेरार्ड जल्दी से अपना दरवाजा पटक देता है और रिवॉल्वर उठाता है। इसके बाद वह पुलिस को फोन कर गिरफ्तारी के लिए कहता है। इस तरह वह चालाकी से अपनी जान बचा लेता है।

This one-act play by Douglas James is a dialogue between Gerard, the playwright, and an intruder who is a criminal. Gerard lives a lonely life in a small hut. One day, while he was talking on the telephone, an intruder with a revolver enters his hut.

He resembles Gerard and therefore intends to kill him in order to take his identity and remain as Gerard for the rest of his life. He accidentally hits the table, and at the sound Gerard turns quickly. But he does not panic, but remains calm and gently asks the intruder his name.

However, the intruder ignores Gerard's question and is very interested in knowing his full name. He asks Gerard several questions. Gerard answers their questions very intelligently.

In addition, he also understands the evil intentions of the intruder. He makes up a false story to save himself and catch the intruder. He tells her that he too is a murderer and that the police are after him. In case, he kills Gerard, he should definitely be hanged.

Gerard explains that unfortunately one of his men has been caught and that he is expecting trouble that night. He then explains to the intruder that it is good for him if he runs away with her in his car to a safe place.

He also tells her that if it is a frame, he can shoot her in the car. Gerard tells all these things with such confidence that the intruder has to trust his words. He is ready to support her. But when he is about to cross the door, Gerard pushes him.

As the intruder steps into the cupboard, the revolver falls to the ground. Then Gerard quickly slams his door and picks up the revolver. He then calls the police and asks them to arrest him. In this way he cleverly saves his life.
