कविता में चर लंबाई के दो श्लोक हैं। प्रथम श्लोक दो पंक्तियों से मिलकर बना है। दूसरी ओर, दूसरा छंद चार पंक्तियों से बना है। इसलिए, पूरी कविता में कुल छह पंक्तियाँ हैं। इस छोटी सी कविता में कवि कोहरे की गति की तुलना बिल्ली के खामोश कदमों से कर रहा है।

बिल्ली एक ऐसा जानवर है जो बिना किसी चेतावनी के अपने गंतव्य की ओर रेंगने में सक्षम है। कोहरा अक्सर जल्दी आता है और पूरे शहर को ढक लेता है।

दूसरे छंद में कवि बिल्ली और कोहरे के बीच तुलना को और विकसित करता है। कोहरा उस शहर के ऊपर आ गया है जहाँ वह बैठता है और बंदरगाह को देखता है, जैसा कि एक बिल्ली अपने गंतव्य पर पहुंचने पर करती है। बिल्लियों को अपने परिवेश को ऊंचे स्थानों से देखने की आदत होती है।

बिल्ली और कोहरे का संरक्षण अस्थायी है। कोहरे की तरह बिल्लियाँ हमेशा आगे बढ़ने के लिए तैयार रहती हैं।

The poem has two verses of variable length. The first verse is made up of two lines. On the other hand, the second verse is made up of four lines. Therefore, there are a total of six lines in the entire poem. In this short poem, the poet compares the movement of the fog to the silent steps of a cat.

A cat is an animal that is capable of crawling towards its destination without warning. Fog often comes early and covers the entire city.

In the second stanza the poet further develops the comparison between the cat and the fog. Fog has come over the city where he sits and overlooks the harbor, as does a cat upon arrival at its destination. Cats have a habit of looking at their surroundings from high places.

Cat and fog protection is temporary. Like fog, cats are always ready to move on.
